Where are all the poor souls of geo in forum ?
Guys... What do you think about paper 1 ? Would it be like 2017 where people claimed they got much more than expected due to some lenient correction ?
Similarly in paper 2 I found that I had very less case studies and facts to quote on paper. Pls do comment so that we can have a gauge of the way optional is going.
@madeyeI think with 2 map Entries correct and writing all other questions good or avg will easily get u 130+ marks (as per my experience of the paper 2 marks last year)
@Arrah_Jilawhile in paper 1 ..I feel they are very specific while awarding marks..they don't award marks if u don't address the main demand of the question eg in Weber's qusn simply writing entire Weber theory won't fetch marks ..u have to be specific with the demand of the questions
Even in generic question like genetic diversity ..the structuring and maps will be the key ..eg here the map of gene pool centre could be apt
@Arrah_Jilapaper 2 ka marking scheme batao na....if u are claiming 130+
As per my experiences till date
Map :- If marking of map is near accurate with avg write-up
U can get full marks eg for 4 correct entries 8 marks10 markers :- Avg write-up :- 5 marks
Good Write-up:- 6 marks
Excellent - Good + map :- 7 marks
Below avg: not addressing qusn but writing some relevant points :- 2-3 marks15 markers :- Avg write-up :- 7
Good :- 8-9
Excellent:- 10-11(some relevant maps,diagrams or case studies )
Below avg :- 5 (with some degree of relevance )20 markers:- Avg :-8-9
Good:- 11-12
Excellent:- 14-15 (same criteria)
Below avg :- 5-6
Putting under avg and good is subjective to different view points but I feel at this stage we very well know what is good and avg so just go by your instincts
I put those answers as avg which are written in hurry in last half an hour though we know a lot about that topics
So based on ur experiences ... relevant addressing of questions ..putting meaningful map diagrams and case studies u can calculate ur marks
@Arrah_Jilabhai paper 1 was a disaster for me, only in isodapane i have drawn the graph, no graph in rest of the questions or diagram. Very sub standard answers in all question, score 80s mei aa jaye bahut hai, plus I have left three 10 marker.
@madeyearound 2 ten markers to almost sabka gadbad hua hai ..so need not to worry
Rest qusns kaise hue hai sabke ..will decide the marks
@Arrah_Jilathanks bhai. Can u throw some light on paper 1. Especially for human geography parts marking.
Also tell about questions like genetic diversity, plate boundary, urban climate along with section A 10 markers for 2019 which seems doable as claimed by many.
Thanks in advance
@jumboBhai paper 1 me I left two questions ..those are Phreatic eruptions and tombolos ...NRR and true replacement rate me I started with true replacement rate bcz ye to samjh me aata tha but was not sure about NRR so tried writing some normal related things which went completely wrong ..
So effective attempt was of 220 marks
@Arrah_JilaI was asking about marking pattern/ parameters on which paper 1 marks depends for human and physical part.
Similar what u explained for p2.
Rest many have left/wrong attempted 20 marks like us.
P.s.- I asked as u have given 2018 exam.
@Arrah_Jilarest I attempted 2,7&8
So pls post the question which we can discuss here
Eg. In 2(a) part 1
importance of conservation of genetic diversity ?
Part 2
Purpose served by protected areas
Ans:- Intro with what do we mean by genetic diversity
Then a world map with Gene pool centres
Importance of conservation me
Wai sab ncert wale concepts
- importance of genetic biodiversity for ecosystem balance ,food chain ,niche etc
- education and research
- act as barrier against climate change and invasive species
Purpose served by protected areas
- protected areas and types
-purpose served me :-
Maintainence of habitat
Facilitating insitu and ex situ conservation
Checking against human intervention and wildlife crimes
Facilitating research
Way forward me kuch suggestions ke sath conclude Kiya with eg of Bandipur where every 1 rupee spent worth 700% including genetic conservation
@jumbo2 b) compare and contrast types of plate boundaries
Intro :- concept of plates and plate boundaries
3 types of plates with simple schematic of each
A table to compare and contrast these 3 types of boundaries
Conclusion me just that their studies are important to understand the various landforms
@jumbomy 2018 paper 1 was disaster ...ek to Maine qusns sahi se address nai kiye ..like 1 a ..structure landform wale me critique part I didn't address similarly ... eurocentric couldn't write ...rostov me bhi qusn address nai Kar paaya ...kobers and threwartha me bhi fundamental mistakes
And the biggest blunder was I write two qusn from human part which was thought ...and with limited knowledge I ended up writing similar contents in two welfare geography qusn
Still got 90 marks (Honestly I was expecting even lesser )
So I feel ..in paper 1 if u address qusn well ..u will get good marks
@Arrah_JilaThanks bhai
@madeyeAnything below 250 is disaster anyway.
@vvvikas0078212haan bhai. I am now in for 2020.
@madeyeUtilize this time for optional.
@Arrah_Jilapls some one review this ...how much marks one should expect with these answers
@Arrah_Jilanature of urabn climate and its impact on global envirpnment wale me kya likha ?
@Arrah_Jilain how many pages/words u wrote this.?
@jumbopart 1 Nature of urban climate
* Urban Heatisland and it's feature with a diagram
*Weather extremities like cloud burst
*Temperature anomalies like inversion ,Delhi smog
Part 2 Impact on global env
* Act as hot spot of green house gas emission
*Impacting albedo
*Impacting horizontal heat distribution
* Air circulations
*Overall ecosystem
Way forward me kuch solutions like green walls ,transit oriented development ,empowering urban governance ,green codes for buildings etc
Overall 3 pages
Please you also share ur answers ...and pls guys participate with your answers or reviews
Even for interview we need to brush up our fundental geography. Concepts
