Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.

Its only declaring result, not eradicating poverty from India that there can't b any idea about probable date. UPSC can't b shielded from all discrepancies just by saying emotional things that it conducts the toughest exam, maintain standards and all.
If Indian Railways, Delhi metro can communicate to its clientele about possible delay despite running such large rail network with so many uncertainties, y can't UPSC inform aspirants about delay ???

See i completely share your frustrations about this delay. Even I am too.
But honestly we cant do anything about it. Its very easy to blame others without standing on their shoes. There must be something which we dont know the reasons for delay.
They havent announced the tentative date to publish results, so they are well within their rights to publish them at their discretion. Yes, if we go by convention it is late. PS: Those examples you have mentioned, they are not a constitutional body plus users pay them to do their job so they are bound to be transparent and demand for better quality of services(and I m guessing its there in Citizens Charter as well).
UPSC is a constitutional body and charge very nominal amount to conduct exams. Compare with the fees of other exams (CAT exam costs you Rs 2000). They are not forcing you to write this exam nor you can demand them for better services.
I know exam fees is not the correct yardstick to compare but the point I am trying to make is "UPSC ko ghanta farak padta" no matter how much we crib. They are not at all answerable to anyone.
Agree to you that there may be some pressing reason for delay and we should not outrageously blame upsc.
But I didn't understand logic like constitutional body,low exam fee, they r not forcing anyone to write exam n all.
Anyways its your perspective which can be different from mine n can still be valuable !!!!!!
i think upsc should set highest possible standard in its conduct
informing candidates about possible date of results is one of such things particularly when its significantly delayed
UPSC's reply to CAT order makes it certain that theresult won't come before 6th Januarynow. They have explained that result can't be declared until final outcome of the case due to technical difficulties in ascertaining cut-offs for various categories.
The case is to be heard on 6th January on urgent basis. Previously, it was scheduled on 16th. Hopefully, the final verdict comes on that day!

@sri-jcec15161Lawyers have received a copy of the reply submitted by UPSC requesting CAT for an early hearing.

@kochikaameupsc has sought early hearing on Monday ie 6th January but no such date has been given till now by CAT. By tomorrow more clarity would come regarding nxt hearing.
