Don't neglect Hindi. I failed Hindi in my first attempt, by a massive margin. It's the worst feeling.
Main focus has to be completing the paper, doesn't have to be well structured.
Do not underestimate the paper, because it's so much lengthier than it seems, especially for non-hindi speakers or people completely out of practice.
Practice Essay writing - Prepare basic paragraph structures and key words. If you prepare properly you can have a generic essay that covers Social, economic, political, historical dimensions with 50-100 words each, and then intro and conclusion already prepared, and then just slot in the appropriate words like an almost fill in the blanks (becasue there are generally 4 standard themes for the language papers).
Practice reading, translating, and learning words from any one hindi newspaper (I used to do Jan Satta) for 30 minutes a day.
Get any good compilation and memorise answers for all the muhavres - they tend to repeat. Same goes for the yugma questions.

@anirudh027 One/two smaller sections being skipped should be okay. But like leaving the entire essay or something like that would be a problem I imagine. There's no consistency in Hindi paper marking, it's very much the whim of the examiner, so completing the entire paper makes it seem like "yeah okay this person knows enough so let's pass them."
