To all the history optional ppl, how was it?
I felt it was general and vague, P1 was lengthy i felt.
I have relatively less knowhow of how history marking is these days, i had history earlier but for last two mains i had anthropology as optional, switched back to history this time.
I just have a specific question regarding marking. Purely based on the feeling of how paper went, is the final score mildly varying or wildly? I know it's a less rewarding subject but is the final score in optional very fluctuating?
I wanna ask u guys regarding exam condition this time around... My centre was in mumbai and in my room about 24 candidates were there, of them about 4-5 had constant cough. On the last day it was quite funny as most of them were coughing which seemed co ordinated.
Anyways, since after the day of exam I fell ill and with symptoms mostly similar to omicron i dint get tested assuming I was in a hotspot and likely to contract it. Been confined to bed with no breathing difficulty but fever and body ache. Is anyone out there in a similar situation?
I actually had been taking meds(pcm) since essay paper just to be in the safer side, but by the time gs4 was finished i definitely had fever, and if all mumbai guys would remember those were some of the coldest days in recorded history of Mumbai.
On the day of language paper for English we were reverted back to original seating arrangement as gs papers the week earlier at Sion centre, there one person who had given gs papers was missing, i presumed must be coz of illness. The upsc under the guise of greater public good has actually made a common fodder out of them.
On the day of my optional paper a guy sitting next to me on the adjusant row was coughing so bad that was disturbing the flow of thoughts but to be fair to to him poor guy had a bottle of warm water which he slipped every 5 mins to stopp coughing. I don't know if he completed the paper coz he seemed fairly disturbed too.
I guess by the end of the exam none of us really cared about health all that was needed was to complete the paper somehow !!
@Apollo11 I was in Room 14 for the optional. There were people in shorts while others in overalls and monkey caps. The fan at the front of the room was blasting away while the one at the other end was crawling somehow. And the constant coughing! Bharat darshan class me hi ho gaya.
I really could not understand but many people insisted on fans early in the morning..
@RaGamera bhi sion centre.. how's ur papers?
Papers to theek the lekin marks to bas upsc batayega😆
I don't know bout others but i have always seen a clerk in SBI or nurse in government hospital give 100% and working a bit more than working hours. Never thought they wanted to earn money without working as above mentioned post try to convey.
Most of the psu or govt ills is because of management decisions or lack of quick decisions. The average employee is really a pawn. The places where govt decided to give autonomy many sectors worked really well, for eg ongc which was pretty profitable until 2019 when govt decided to transfer surplus capital to self which left ongc with no cash to invest, you can see where things are going now. The process of governance doesn't have integrity, as they just treat profit making psu as personal fief and impose decisions without any long term considerations.
But has privatisation worked in India? Private investment in media is a best example, what is the status of private media is for everyone to see. What about it sector??
There is a reason why Indians have high hopes in government sector jobs, because it has stability, despite salary being low and working condition not upto the mark. The big tragedy of our times is that none of us are skilled beyond rudimentary graduation level skills and many of us are hopelessly inflexible to learn new skills.
PS: unfortunately not the way an aspirant should be looking the problems but this is what I feel it is.
In 2019, i was confident of gs 1, was hoping to get 95, instead got 65, gs 2 went pathetic was expecting 60-70 and got 65 here too. There is simply no way I still can't compare how both the papers got similar marks.
But i have learnt one thing, that it's useless to think about marks once it's over. Sometimes feeling of elation after attempting may also be false. Better to simply focus on the task ahead and work for that, ie pre and interview prep, but we all know it's easier said than done.
@RaGa haan bhai sab fail honge peace
There is a saying, if u don't like the show change the channel, similarly if u don't like a view choose to ignore it.
Baki i don't wish ki sabhi fail ho..
Aap apne peace me raho hum apne peace me khush.
I have written both the essays with heading and sub heading. Actually in the past i too had a similar opinion, about breaking the flow and all. I had 142 in 2017 and 122 in 2019. In 2019 2nd essay was screwed as I had spent so much time on VALUE wala essay that in the end i had to rush. So 2nd essay was about 6 - 7 pages with a hasty conclusion and all technical point on education/ health topic.
This time I had gone through videos of essay classes by shabbir sir, vision ias ( available on some Tele channels) both of which actively encouraged subheadings. * This time I've followed the advise of coaching walas and written with subheadings. I cant award myself any marks, but both the essays felt pretty decent after writing, even regarding subheadings i dint feel much different than normal.
Reading the conversation here makes me wonder if heading / subheading does affect our final marks.
I m getting a lot of negative feelings these days that I might have underperformed in the mains exam..
Whenever I read any topic now I am instantly reminded that I could have used these points in so and so answer..
I m getting more and more underconfident with each passing day...
Does anyone else also face such issues..
Or do they increasingly become more confident with the day of result getting closer..
It's natural, thats why only trust that feeling which u had immediately after the exam.
@zombieland this time gs 1 was easier or tougher as per u?
Paper GS1 appears to be easy..
But it is actually slightly on the tougher side..
I have geography optional but I really struggled to write the difference between impact of melting of arctic ice and Antarctic glaciers..
Measures by society to conserve values..
There were many such questions..
Opinions may vary..
I will be honest here, but I really didn’t recall having seen this question until I saw the paper again.
I hope as u say gs 1&4 is marked liberally
@Declared_Dead Same here. Lost two days completely, in between the gs and optional papers, due to severe headache and cold (wasted some five days during the days just before the essay paper too, thinking that it will get postponed😅 heck, even chipped in to get that PIL moving😑).
That was something, me too thought It might get postponed esp on the final day of argument before essay paper, i was reading the arguments on livelaw and thinking it might get Postponed. Wasted a total of 5-6 hours that day, despite knowing postpone was very unlikely.
I hope everyone gets 2 marks for that map point in Kashmir.
» show previous quotesWo toh pichle 2 saal se History optional bani hui hai. While people in a thro are easily scoring 250, humare toppers 250-70 me fasse hue hai
"Easily cross 250" wali soch bohot hi misleading hai, i crossed from history to anthro then back here simply coz mujhe anthro thoda bhi nahi jama. One funny thing is I use to write those qs in p2 anthro well which had history related aspects, like Neolithic, Harappan (asked in 2019), baki i just worte...
@RaGa Bhai aapke charche bahut door tak hain !! Aap ki wajah se maine history nahin chhodi , jab mujhe pata chala balak log History se anthro se history kar rahe hain :O
😹😹
Yeah some compensation needed for errors on their part
Best compensation would be bhar bhar baato...
@Philip_Marlowe Maine bhi chhoodd dia , site unhone toh 200 km upar kar di XD
Maine bhi chhodd diya tha ...last 1 min me jab paper collect karna shuru hua tab I wrote burzahom, waha pe ek Harappan pottery mili this shayad, so I wrote that quickly...
Bahar aake dekha to pata laga ki poonch me ASI had started searching for evidence of ivc in 2019 but later there is no news.. but it's very unlikely ki correct ho, baki hopefully kuch to marks mile is baat ke ki site hi wrong hai
@Admgenalanezh Bahut log ko load tha.Ek telegram survey pe roughly 50% in Delhi had Covid related symptoms.Mujhe khud 10th to 15th Jan tak 102F fever thaParacetamol khaa ke kaam chalaIt severely affected revision.
Same here, main bhi ethics ke baad feverish Ho Gaya tha, 2 din barbaad ho gaye the.. iam sure ye jo 50% covid related symptoms wala survey hai wo ki jagah bhi itni hi proportion me true rahega..
@HankShrader Bhai sociology optional ??
Bhai history hai ya nahi kyu nahi poocha😹😸?
@WaitingForResult2021 Bhai mera optional History tha maine toh attempt kiye the , 78 aaye XD
This is the irony, tell me guys with history optional who do really well in gs 1, dunno maybe we ppl write really detailed answers or something, but there is errie correlation
With god's grace if I happen to get IPS, I will be the happiest person alive..
I m expecting that my dream may come true..
I may be be wrong in my prediction.. but it is not my first attempt.. I have appeared for mains earlier and gauging my performance accordingly..
You are a pretty optimistic person, and especially for a sceptical person for me, it will drive my notional scores upwards when I open the calculator again 😹😆
I do hope u realise your dream..
I am new to Forum threads. I have a question regarding personality tests. Are questions asked from entire DAF or only from the summary sheet? I wonder if the entire DAF is visible to the board members at all? The DAF contains information regarding caste and categories and I read somewhere that the board is not aware about the reservation of the candidate. If this is the case, then the board must be having limited access to the DAF.
Someone please shed some light on how the process works. The youtube topper mocks have confused me; there the panel has access to the DAF in its entirety.
There is ambiguity regarding access to DAF, some say they only get to have summary sheet, but it would correct to assume they have access to your entire DAF.
Iam not aware of the process in recent years but I believe candidates were called in such a way that gen cat competed the interview process first and later others, this i had read on quora.

Compeltely wrong analysis. I know some general students whose interview was in the last week. U can message me, I can give their name nd marksheet.
That is why I wrote "not aware of the process in recent years"
So if it's not category wise then it must be region wise then. Thanks for correction btw
I guess it is highly faulty to compare Hitler and Putin, Hitler belonged to a different era which was nearing its end- the era of imperialism and colonialism. His policy was essentially expansionist towards the east, he was softer(comparatively) towards France and UK and ultimately, the concept of total war was quite widely applied in initial years to the Eastern front, thats why we have records of attrocities in Poland, Soviet republics, eastern Europe and not in France.
Putin on the other hand is fighting this as a defensive war, Ukraine has been marred with various revolutions in the past 20 years. Essentially Ukraine is divided east and west along political lines, west Ukraine favours close contact( business and military) with the western countries while east U favours it's old ties with Russia and old Soviet nations.
2004- orange revolution, pro west yanukovich(pardon spellings here) won after reelection was ordered.
2010- new president yanukovich was elevated with pro Russian leanings
2014- euromaiden protests were organised, and democratically elected govt was outsted. Reason was yanukovich dint agree to sign economic agreement for close association with EU while stopping eco agreement already in place with Russia. (It is said that it was widely supported by the western Intel agencies- if we see wiki pages this is called revolution of dignity).
2014 Russo-Ukraine war essentially a response to this 'coup', leading to annexation of Crimea, as Russia feared losing access to the black sea if Ukraine entered EU and subsequently NATO.
Now the existence of NATO itself is questionable since cold war ended, in addition steady expansion of NATO eastwards has been seen to be a threat to Russia.
The present war is in the background that Ukraine has been seeking membership of EU and NATO, though it hasn't been granted. Now if NATO gains access to Ukraine where does it leave Russia? It will have missiles pointing at Moscow which could reach it within 5-7 mins. Does that sound like Russia should allow that to happen?? We(Indians) are concerned about Chinese string of pearls for precisely this reason - to have an enemy up so close and at multiple points.
There is a precedent like this in history too, 1962 -cuban missile crisis. Where Soviets placed nuclear missiles in Cuba, in response to NATO nuclear missiles in Italy and Turkey. By logic if USA had an agreement with turkey and Italy to place missiles which were sovereign nations then so did Soviet union and Cuba, hence no nation should have problen. But USA precipitated nuclear crisis to prevent nuclear weapons within 90miles of it's coast. The fact is no great powers like to have interference within its sphere of influence. And in Europe, which has primarily based it's inter-country relations on the concept of Balance of power since the French revolution, loss of Ukraine's neutrality will lead to dangerous weakening of Russia.
I don't think Russia is wrong in its security concerns, i don't think war was not an option either. It is a calculated risk, just like Hitler had thought of quick victory in 1941, his famous words were " we just need to knock the door and the whole communist structure would come stumbling down", Putin is hoping for a quick victory and change of Ukraine govt and some security aggreements. Let's see how it plays out.
While we may profess sovereignty, democracy and peaceful negotiations , the game is far bigger here than that.
We Indians should rather protect our interests which are at the moment with Russia and quite proudly advocate "kadi ninda" than go for grandstanding and lose a valuable ally.
@RaGa kitab bata do bhai wahi padh lenge _/\_
Kitab mat padho Bhai YouTube pe history sunte raho aur wiki padh lo
Hypothetical question ❓
Suppose this war gets out of control, and nuclear bomb is detonated by Russia over Ukraine and NATO ups the ante and there is a full blown crisis of nuclear world war ( Russian foreign minister threatened the same today) and in this scenario suppose result is declared and we have interview scheduled during the period of this crisis ( now please don't use ifs and buts that upsc won't conduct interviews in this scenario, coz pls remember this is a hypothetical scenario) the question iswould you appear for the interview ?
** I was just thinking after reading that statement and i sincerely hope such scenario never happens to the world or to us. So pls don't troll me for asking this question.
Answer from my side- i probably would if transport from my city is available.
@RaGa Why I get feel that is Rahul Gandhi always, reading your username.😂
🙄🙄
Yaar Maine jo likha usme bhi trigger ho gaye 😹😹😸
Yr cricket ka discussion start karwao . Kafi kuch discuss ho skta h , Virat Kohli se leke Rohit Sharma tak 😂
Ganguly sits in selection committee meetings which is in violation of BCCI rules.
Meeting m selectors ko yahi bolta hoga "aap apne dada ko bhule toh nahi"

I was going through question papers today. Gs 2 & 3 just hit differently..
Aisa lag raha hai 70 bhi nahi ayenge..😥
Felt the same ,maybe we are under-evaluating too much , I'm not sure either
What's the marking metric you follow for sub-par/avg/good answers for 10 & 15 m Qns?
Forum ke metric ke hisab se rakha hai bhai.. like 6 to 6.5 /15 & 3.5-4/10 for the better answer.
@RaGa Means 6.5 highest ? 🥺
Matlab jo mujhe mere answers best lagte the wo.
capdecrusader gs 2 I honestly don’t remember but IR ka ek qs chut Gaya, gs3 abt air quality, blue led and gdp qs blanked hai
@EiChan In 2020 also, she must have given.
No
Ye itna sab pata kaise chal gaya tum logo ko🤔
Just saw vision analysis of GS 3. He says paper this year is more 'doable'. Agreed there were many factual questions. seeing the analysis, i feel only I am doomed one. To summarise my attempt:
1. Getting 0 (no attempt): Blue LED and Air Quality.
2. Charity marks: S-400 (nothing specific).
3. Below average (1-2 specific points only): GDP revision.
4. Average: NFSA (could not recall provisions except 2-3 specific), last 3 decades earthquake disasters.
5. Good: cop 25 outcome and panchamrit answer was well memorized.
Is this performance too disastrous and should I not keep any hope? Or has it been like this for most of us who have actually written in exam conditions?
Sabka near about yahi haal hai.. lekin isme bhi kuch aise log rahenge jinhone accha answer likha hoga in saare qs bas wohi curve ke aage honge aur hum sab average me aa jayenge
llustration means suitable example/anecdote bringing out the meaning of the term?
Edit: The definition of an illustration isa picture or a drawing or the act of creating the drawing, or is an example used to explain or prove something. An example of an illustration is a picture accompanying a magazine article.
So technically both are true, but did people draw diagram of some sorts to explain?
@Akkku ye to dictionary meaning nikala hai maine Google karke... Maine bhi examples hi likhe hai jitne yaad aye.
I can’t remember anything I wrote and I’m having sporadic bursts of result anxiety, so that’s been fun. :P
But how reliable are these coaching institute analyses? Are they over-the-top? model answers for mock tests usually are
In my opinion these seminars try to give the best possible answers but they are far away from reality of a student writing in exam conditions.
" Assistant professors are always asking to borrow money. Even their children don't think much of them. That's the ugly truth"
1. Bhai wo asst professor hai, his payment is guarded by ugc rules and they do get pretty good payment.
2.They have their own sphere of influence, those who learn and gather knowledge from them respect them a lot.
3. "Even their children do not think much of them" ? Seriously??
My prediction is if election result goes against the ruling party then this issue would be considered sympathetically, If they win then upsc won't agree and no chance would be granted.
@Admgenalanezh Will it delay results??
Highly likely, as the petitioners asked for 1) an extra attempt next year, or 2) a "special" main exam for them alone, before the result of the conducted main exam is announced. This second demand means, till court gives the verdict, the result will be in limbo.
Intelligent petition, if the government denies them special exam which they will obviously then extra attempt for future becomes relevant.
My prediction is if election result goes against the ruling party then this issue would be considered sympathetically, If they win then upsc won't agree and no chance would be granted.
With due respect, this is very clerical level thinking.
😹😹😹
how is vision ias essay content enrichment program?
Didn't actually join it, but watched available recent videos on TG, smriti Shah mam takes the classes and she is pretty good at it. I particularly liked the abstract topics wala lecture, others were great too.
If one joins in, the added advantage could be feedback on the assignments and tests which is definitely great.
I watched those lectures one month before mains and didn't join any tests series for essay.
Ppl with previous experience of mains
How much of variation did you see in actual marksheet from your expected conservative marks?
What/How are you improving on since then?
All the best
In my limited knowledge, i feel it's difficult for even an experienced person to judge their marks. Yes, in essay and two optional paper one can easily say whether the paper was disastrous or average to good.
In GS atleast i always got post result/marks wisdom about things that would have gone wrong.
Regarding improvement, it's never easy as one gives attempts, one has to also unlearn while learning new things. So the progress for veterans is based on the combination of-- analysis of previous failures+ energy/positivity for next attempt+ unlearning/learning.
Yaha pe marks milenge history walon ke...ek 300 wala fir seedhe 240-250 me hai and then lower and lower...
Still history Wale bohot Kam hai jinhone marks share kiye hai, dunno why. Sample is also an issue in all of this i guess.
Edit : i do not see anyone even with disastrous performance below 200 .

Apne Wale se accha hi lag raha...
@masteroptimist Ab mat kaho yeh sab maine form bhar ka socio se dobara history kia :(
Sahi choice ki hai bhai...socio/anthro me answers likhna is not a very easy thing...ye extreme marks isi wajah se ate hai... Switch karo to theek se samjh ke karo, else we are just another statistic.
Paap ka ghada bharta hi hai
Khoob maje kie anthro walo ne pichle 2 3 salo me ab is baar bada katega unka
Pehle bata do ki tum history Wale to nahi ho...
Kyuki Maine yahi dekha hai ki jo aisa wish karta hai usi ke optional ki lagg jati hai 😹😹
PS: waise anthro walo ke maze pattern change hone ke baad se hi hue hai.. 2013 ke baad kyuki shayad pehle do optional era me socio-anthro, history-anthro allowed nahi tha.
Yaar, is saal i feel everyone secretly is expecting an interview call.. no one sounds disappointed with the paper, bas shayad marks calculation conservative rakha hai logo ne, just above last year cutoff or smthngbhai mujhe prabudhha karo ke kya last time 2020 me log less optimistic the kyunki me yahan nahi tha. aur agar apki baat sahi he to seedha matlab he cutoff badega kyunki seets bhi 124 kam he
Main nahi tha last year ...to koi aur bataye to samjhe..
@Minato 120+95+95+90+95+125+125
Gs1 m 95 hote toh interview Dene mil jata mujhe 😿
duryodhan bhai ek genuine question..aapko last year as per estimated mila har GS or optional mein ya kam ya jyada? kripya bataye..
Bhai ye marks predict krne ka talent kuch logo m hi hota h . Unfortunately m unme se nhi hu .but mains clear ho jayega atleast ye lga tha .
But thodi Kami reh gyi .
Yaar ye call to aa hi jayega ke baad , jab nahi ata to bohot bura lagta hai
@Duryodhan gs1 m hi sbse Kam the?
Haa
Kitne? Kya kharab hua tha?
74
Ab marks predict krne ka talent toh nhi h mere pas but kharab nhi lga tha paper. Idk maybe society or geography section m pel diya hoga mujhe.
attempt kitne kie the?
Sab . Bas ek art n culture wale 15 marker m 1.5 pages hi bhare .
sare attempt karne ke baad bhi 74 aye
kuch zaada gadbad nai ho gaya bhai gs1 ki predictability ko dhyan rakhte hue?
Mujhe kya pta yr.
Bol toh rha hu society nd geo m zyada avg answers reh gye honge maybe. History m kharab nhi aane chahiye mere hisab se.
Ye prob Meri bhi hai… samjh nahi ata ki kya galati hui hai

Gs1 m hum log time nhi dete . Lite le liya ise .yahi galti h .
I personally think geography jo 100 marks ka hota hai use ignore kiya tha Maine , esp prelims ke baad.. society ka to answer kaise likha jaye yahi Mayne rakhta hai …nahi to content me sab kuch na kuch pel dete hai decent reading ke baad.
@Capedcrusader1 does that not happen always in all exams? I mean for example, there are 70 IAS UR posts and a SC candidate gets AIR 10. In final allocation list, they’ll be counted among the 70 UR because it’s unreserved, not really for ‘general’ students as we like to say. That’s what I thought happens… correct me if I’m wrong.
Here i don't understand one thing, suppose someone with rank 76 belongs to sc category, so he cleared in UR , right?
In cadre allocation would he be alloted acc to those that remain under UR after allocation to all the 75 above him? Or will he be allocated according to cadre available in category ?
@Capedcrusader1 gs1,4 liberal checking, 2-3 m strict checking hua h as per TG insiders but it's not possible to confirm veracity of the info
Aisa hai to mare hue ko aur marenge😹
Anyone with history optional? What is the general opinion? While the paper, I know, can’t exactly be called difficult, it wasn’t very straightforward either, right? The first paper ? Good standard of questions, in my opinion.
I think P1 a bit lengthy, ancient wasn't that straight forward.
10 marker of medieval were relatively better this time
World history was a bit tricky..probing a bit deeper, i felt
@RaGa any idea, why they put a political map for one year and then back to physical the next? Taking randomness to the next level
Bhai must have been that they had less time to transfer to boundariless map before printing in 2020, else everytime it has been like this year only.
SeeBhaktiyar khilji ke baare me padha, he burnt down Nalanda in 1200 ce, obviously reason was to scare the population into submission and destroy the intellectual resistance.
If kisi ne JL mehta padhi hogi to u will know he talks about holocaust during establishment of Islamic rule.
Around the same time Mongol invasions shuru hue the, central Asia me where the tradition was to kill everyone who resisted. Khwarizm empire ko destroy karne ke strategy zabardast thi. They destroyed every city in Persia at that time and killed large population.
Now the point where Bhaktiyar khilji is relevant here is Siege of Baghdad 1259, if u read it you will know that it is end of Islamic golden age, Islamic literature ka hub Baghdad me tha, Mongols burnt down the library which continued for many days( just like Nalanda), this apart from killing of entire Baghdad population, killing of Caliph by trampling horses over him.
This when Mongols wre yet to accept Islamic faith btw.
The point iam trying to make is, RW Wale usually try to draw conclusions based on some historical facts for which they try and draw a historical responsibility of present day Muslim population in the subcontinent.
We all draw conclusions according to what suits our logic, above mentioned sari batein facts hai
To agar:
1. Ye kaha jaye ki battle tactics like killing entire towns and cities were common in that time, can it be said to be correct? Is this perspective modern one or medieval one?
2. Do Persian and central Asian population still abhor their Mongol history?
Main kisi ki side nahi le raha hu, bas ye bata raha hu history ko apne tarike se interpret karke samjhane Wale bohot authors milenge, lekin as said ki apne ko bhi ye dekhna hai ki which one seems more credible.
Teacher chahe jo bhi bataye, lekin marks lane ke liye kya likhna hai ye bhi hume hi sochna padega.
EDIT: BHAIYON MUJHE PELNA NAHI, MAIN KOI ARGUMENT KARNE KE HALAT ME NAHI HU. 😹😹😹
@RaGa bhai but ye argument real world me bahut dilemma create karti hai.I gave the same reply to a peer from Kashmir ki whtever happned ther is because of war tactics but at human level one cant justify banality of evil man!!
Main medieval era ki baat kar Raha hu veere, 1989 me jo hua wo to wrong hi hai.
@RaGa okay.Kya kisi ko aisa lagta hai Scroll,Quint ye sab ek type ka intellectual po$% hai and most of us are affected beacuse of it??
Sabka apna dimag rehta hai bhai, koi galat ya sahi nahi rehta ,atleast in history. Waise main wo kuch bhi nahi padhta hu so no idea abt their intellectual potential 😹

So in baghdad is there any prominent place named after Genghis khan like bakhitiyarpur station in Bihar?
Pata lagega to bata dunga Bhai.. waise ye sure hai ki india ne Iraq me jo railway line banayi thi 70s me wo saari USA ne uda di thi.
@Duryodhan He is rejecting the "only" and not the argument itself.
Dekho ye Islamic invasions ke brutality ko baat kare to isko hide karne ka ye reason tha ki major division hua tha country ka 47 me, Papering over the facts was to hide wounds and prevent passions from regeneration.
This idea was accepted by people of that time and as we see we never had a government which supported this narrative. Anyways LW did the service to prevent the facts from coming out and it went out the way it did.
Now that we have a thriving eco system of other views, it will take time to build out a structure to help thrive "intelligentsia" but it will happen eventually, because this is what people are supporting too. Papering over the historical fact has been rejected comprehensively.
@aa12 I think Kanishak Kataria also said something similar about coaching evaluation. Another example is Chandrajyoti Singh. If you see her answers, they’re far from the conventional ‘coaching template’, both in optional as well as GS. Ends up getting AIR 28 with History !
Chandrajyoti Singh answers if u see from iasscore site u might see them as about average but if u see her SSH copies u will se a notable difference (i may be saying reverse) but there is a difference.
Although I am pretty sure I won’t make it, but this is giving me major anxiety.how are you pretty sure? curious
for me , anxiety increases during night time and often times i know that the anxeity is misplaced. its because i didnt do much during the day. i had no result anxiety during daytime.
My essay paper is the reason I feel like there is very little chance for me. As well as gs 3 and almost every other paper was very generic imo. Idk if result surprises me but seems unlikely.
gs ka toh paper ab khul nai raha mere se
i am also scared but whats done is done
more power to you
😹😹 Sabka yahi haal hai..
Jis answer pe pehle 2 marks le rahe the uspe 3 marks le rahe hai, aise cutoff ke upar ja rahe hai
bhai aise toh koi bhu chuchundar case kardega hamesha hi, aur rezzult late ho jayega
Actually EWS me bhi delay hua tha, fir jat reservation me bhi hua tha. SC me case rahega to delay hua hai iska past precedent hai to sahi.
Also sc koi case tabhi rakhti hai jab koi serious matter ho else they dismiss it

Ye kya ho gaya ise😹
Geography ka to pata nahi lekin history to revise kare nahi hota.
Aur nayi cheeze aur perspective ate hai wo alag.
Waise science subjects are different in many ways, takes time too. But if one has taken good effort does it guarantee great score?? History me I know a few ppl who are languishing in average score of 230-240 despite doing what is required. I think this is where difference lies.
But why do ppl like engineers still take humanities subjects? Mostly coz they can't below a certain number( it's very difficult to get really low score of 120-130s in history for both papers combined), so it acts like a safety net while science ppl can't take that for granted.
Bhai ye anthro se wapas history me ane ki kahani bohot wierd hai.
Anthro me Mera bura haal hai ye mujhe pehle hi pata tha. 2019 me language paper ke din, mere seat ke aage Jo Banda baitha tha wo history optional wala tha. To baat karte karte usne poocha ki history se anthro kyu liya , to maine kaha ki history me marks hi nahi aate, faltu subject hai bla bla..
Bande ne thodi der suna fir mujhe bola ki bhai marks to acche ate hai mehnat karo to. Maine bhi fir use poocha ki aapke kitne the? Usne bola ki 324, pehle to laga ki jhooth hai, lekin bande ke sahi me itne the, wo 2018 ka topper phadke tha. Bas usi se inspired ho gaya fir se, kyuki anthro ki struggle se mukti ke liye yahi ek option bacha tha. Baki jaisa maine kaha history me mere kabhi bhi bohot Kam nahi aye the us saal ke standard se, ye to bas main anthro ke marks dekhkar aur portion chota dekhke waha chala gaya tha, lekin asli baat capabilities ki rehte hai optional lete waqt and i had realised ki anthro padhne ki capability mujhme to nhi thi
Khair abhi recently pata laga ki us bande ko 2019 me jo uska final attempt tha usme use 234 smthng tha, so @duryodhan bhai tumhara 2019 performance bohot zabardast tha.
@musk Mujhe bhi GS 1 tough laga.Easy to bilkul bhi nahi laga3 4 Questions easy hone se paper easy nahi ho jaata.Geography and society ke questions tough the.
Haa yaar. Pehle geography mostly Indian geography based hote the. Ishbaar world geography jyada tha. Aur society me conventional questions jo aate the wo nhi the. Mast the but time laga mujhe kaafi likhne me.
Society tough tha kafi esp agar end me likhna pade to
Dekha jaye to gs 1 specific likhne ke hisab se tough tha, lekin sab kuch na kuch likh paye isliye public ko jyada tough nahi laga hoga
On a serious note, this is an embarrassment for India. Questions the safety protocol of strategic weaponsBC kabhi galti se nuclear armed missile fire kar dala in logo ne to tabahi mach jayegi.. bohot badi mistake hai ye to
Ho bhi sakta hai. Also, MOD admitted it after 2 days. There might have been some backchannel talks though. Still cant figure out why are we still behind in PR management ?
DG-ISPR ko dekho, aisa dikhate hain jaise yhi hain sabse bade warriors and peacekeepers ! Claim kr rhe submarine ko bhi detect kiya.
Yar ye Pakistani information warfare me bohot aage hai india se, even in terms of counter alliances..bas asli ladayi me peeche reh jate hai
Worst is reaching till interview and not getting a rank. Aur ek aadh baar interview de diya aur bina selection k attempt over ho gaye to that is the worst. Pura life "what if I had" chalta rahega mind mein. Obviously people move on and do other things but man mein ek tees reh jaati hai ki un 15 minutes ne life ki direction badal di.
"once a aspirant, always a aspirant"
Kabhi real life me koi ex upsc wala Banda/bandi mil jaye to lagta hai ye to apna Bhai hai 😹
@Forumite kafi optimistic janta hai 😂
Kahi hum hi pessimistic to nahi?😅
@RaGa Yes, iske saath in Directorate of Film Festival. It is very happening arena, hosting varied film festivals. Also, the Publication Division. Mujhe toh 🤣 domain achha lagta. But, people have fears of privatisation too, I guess. Further, no power positioning like few top services.
Sahi hai, nacho, gao ,full party life me 🤣🤣
Lekin is me bhi Compeition hogi, Jyada happening dept seniors aur chahete logo ko milte honge.. aur boring jaise PIB kuch aur logo ko..
Bhai order bata to kaise rehni chahiye after top five services, jiska mains hoga uske lie helpful rahega.
Thanks@Philip_Marlowe and@HankShrader for that
@Sopranos Kuch nahi ayega. 🤭🙏
Nahi aaega to evening mein insiders ko gariaaenge sab milkar. Kuch 'exciting' hoga is thread par, nahi to saari services ko ek ek karke decimate kar rahe hain log. Aisa chalta raha to kai log mains clear hone par interview dene hi nahi jaaenge.
Bhai sab relative hai.
Jinka mains clear nhi hua: woh mains cutoff ko sub-conciously target krtr hain jaise k 1 number se clear ho jaye toh selection ho jayega.
Jinka mains clear hua aur selection nhi hua. Woh last rank ko target krte hain. Chahe last rank wale ko AFHQS hi milta ho is rank pe.
Jinko service mil gya woh apne se upar preference wale ko target krenge aur niche preference wale ko thoda kum aakenge.
Bas lyf aise hi chalti jayegi.
Bt mere jaise log jinhone kaafi attenpt de diye without selection unke liye koi rank aa jaaye yhi maayne rakhta hai. Ek honourable exit k liye.
Honourable exit ...
Bas yahi baat reh jati hai end me ...bilkul sahi
@RaGa toh unka bhi utaare na uss group ka insiders ki woh bhi 16 bol rahe the 😑
Yar main bas csm2021 Wale channel pe hu waha pe kuch diya nahi tha...
Bas ye RAS wala detail diya tha
@Philip_Marlowe is it a good idea to read backlog of NP?
i need some suggestions with hobbies
safe ones
Cooking , watching /playing cricket, Table tennis,
bhai i dont watch/play cricket and table tennis
they will rail me then and there
any other suggestion plz
Jo bhi tumko suit kare wo choose Karo..
Go through last year interview transcript and you will know
Waise i know 2 ppl who kept hobbies column blank but they asked one or two qs on that blank thing itself. Iska marks pe kitna effect hota hai ye debatable point hai
kitna aya tha inka interview me
150 -160s me tha
Lekin ye akela factor nahi tha jo matter Kiya, qs on edu background were asked probingly plus optional.
Just came accross another one, social work/volunteer as a hobby.Ye toh bolne m hi hasi nikal jaaye meri toh
TG pe interview Wale channel pe maine abhi hi dekha..log bade likh rahe the ki bohot innovative hobby hai isliye maine yaha likh di..
Waise apna fixed hai bhai....mast cooking ati hai wohi likh denge , baki TT hi likhna padega kyuki cricket na to ab dekha jata hai aur na hi janne ki iccha rahi hai interview ke liye bhi
wo notification kal se esi bakchodi karraha he, tum dekhoge wo gayab ho jaega, tumhare andar hazaaron ummidein bandhegi aur thodi der me phir wo prakat go jaega.
@RaGa unhone to bhai mains m lunch dene ka bhi bola tha :)
Ha Bhai wo to bhool hi Gaye..lekin wo notice itni der rahi thi kya?? Ab to poora din hi nikal gaya hai...
Just after exam - kuch nhi hona , watt lag gya , saala kitna dumb hu mai, kuch nhi aata , kalse hi test series lagaunga optional gs ka
A few days later - yaar ho skta hai, feeling aa rhi hai
A few weeks later - bhut shi likh ke aaya , saare qsn attempt kiye, diagram bnaya, committe likhi , matlab kuch chodda hi nhi. Interview to aana chahiye
After result - pta hi tha nhi hona Hai.
Mera ulta hua hai is baar
@Ashu8740 Masum kids ki anxiety ka maza lene par bhagwan ji unko saja denge
Yar waise logical bat hai, Upsc notice hai abhi bhi, hume pata hai mamla sc case related hai, to kal morning ko result ayega is baat pe vishwas karna thoda mushkil hai...
Khair kaptaan ko info Dene wala bhi agar andaaze se bol raha hoga to what can he do as well.
The only reason that upsc can declare the result tomorrow is to argue "fait accompli" in SC on 21 hence no attempts to them for this year, which will cause unreasonable delay. Rest extra attempt could have different arguments.
@RaGa Feminists have the answer. Let us assume notice is female because it is strong and unique.
So answer to your question is "It's her choice"
Matlab kuch bhi…😹😹

I did, still there
