@Vishnugupta And if someone wants to use this as benchmark, this is this year's poll

I guess it's like all the online mocks. When no one's watching, many people tend to get exceptionally high scores, which they otherwise would not

They somehow want to delude themselves by putting their marks in the safe range based on previous year cutoff and insights bunch r the worst lol.i m one victim in the past.

Are domestic maids also casual workers  ? Are they entitled for epf ?

If cutoff does not decrease it must be due to clustering but due to many ambiguous questions it could even be in the range of 80 to 85.

@sic_mundus_creatus_est bhai i am not disputing with anyone's knowledge, i have had already marked it wrong, nothing to gain from manipulating my marks for a temporary respite. Simply puting out the facts i recently looked up for. The aforesaid articles were published recently whereas the ncerts have not been revised sincec ages, and the use of extreme statements such as "entirely" might hold clue to the answer. Again not disputing with anyone. Have faith in yourself and proceed. All the best.

Any chance for prelims?

on InsightonIas people are scoring 100+

Those scoring 100+ are not all ST na

Dont worry your caste/ST certificate will help you sail through even if General category candidate fails on the same marks.

even if you ignore informal workers, there are still some exemptions. Even the SC ruling laid out some exemptions. All casual employees does not seem true

Yes and there is nothing wrong with that.

@atulji Coachings waale soch rhe hai ki “entitlement” is same as eligibility.
BUT When one is entitled to something, he/she has right over it like Antodaya families are  entitled to Food subsidy.

Also, As per Section 6 of EPFO Act, the contribution which shall be paid by the employer to the Fund shall be 12%
In case of Agricultural Labourers, Will farmers be asked to pay contribution towards EPFO?????

  • On the question whether casual or temporary workmen should be included for the purpose of ascertaining the strength of workmen in terms of Section 1(3) it was held by the Rajasthan High Court in Bikaner Cold Storage Co. Ltd. v. Regional P.F. Commissioner, Rajasthan, 1979 Lab. I.C. 1017, that persons employed in the normal course of the business of the establishment should be considered as the persons employed for the purposes of Section 1(3)(a) and persons employed for a short duration or on account of some urgent necessity or abnormal contingency, which was not a regular feature of the business of the establishment cannot be considered as employees for the purpose of determining the employment strength in relation to the applicability of Section 1(3)(a). See Section 1(3) a above.

So even if a casual employee in an organisation is entitled to EPF, it does not necessarily mean all casual employees in the organisation are entitled to  employee provident fund because some may not qualify to be called workers.

Anybody else who isn't anxious about the controversial questions because they have marked obviously wrong answers in those? 😛
