[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021
Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

Merger of 2020 and 2021 CSE with more vacancies and exams in the month of April or May + Extra attempt to those applied in 2020 = win win situation for all.
Draft a change.org petition with that and share the link. Address it to PM,UPSC, and we will sign it..
Interstellar05,SergioRamos@Tejas14 Corona situation is not going to improve in next few more months even if cases starts falling. When vaccine come to market by December then gradually situation will start to get better. By April or May situation will be totally under control then we can go ahead and conduct the exam.

@Dead Manbuddy many had their interviews just before the lockdown and between 20th and 30th of july. THe interview process (explaining oneself) becomes extremely difficult with masks and shields on. So it would become unfair to risk infection, travel to delhi and then not getting selected. The pandemic disrupted the normal interview process as well, rather severely

The capacity is not enough to train a batch with twice as many selections.
Those who want to skip the attempt, can do so. The demand should be for an extra attempt. For this year's exam wisdom of upsc and candidates who want to write the exam should be respected.
They are reducing seats every year, expecting them to double the seats while merging next year is wrong. They may increase the seats by 400-500 still a loss for us.
@Dead Man it is predicted that vaccine will be in market by Dec still not sure. Today Bill Gates said don't expect first vaccine to be great. And by April not like the entire population will be vaccinated. That's impossible.
Asking for extra attempt sounds perfect but merging exam and conducting it in April/May just on the basis of a hope is hot a great idea.
