[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

time is precious many will agree with me. already we have no career backup let upsc happen on time. you can ask for extra attempt or age relaxation but let others write this exam

agar upsc ne risk ni lia hota to 2019 ka result or toppers ni milte hme..

yes corona is lethal but everybody cant wait for entire 1 long year..

@sulawesi  Yeah they should move exam further. On top of Corona spikes we have flood in North East ,Bihar and Maharashtra.  They need to settle down too many problems to handle for students. Now I understand why students are not vacating there Hostels.

Can add one more point as well: that we won't to be able to perform well or concentrate in the exam hall due to covid fear lingering in our minds.

Its not that simple that exam gets postponed and next year and this year’s vacancies are clubbed together and we have 1600 seats.

Government is in borderline austerity mode. If the above happens there are chances of more people are fighting for fewer seats, relative to two separate cycles.

Actually the best time to conduct the exam this year was the earlier D -day 31st may itself coz the situation has gone from bad to worse now. So upsc will keep that in mind what if the situation deteriorates further? which is most likely.  Should it cancel its entire calendar for all exams? Not to forget that NDA or CDS are equally important bfor upsc. And I bet NDA or CDS candidates don't want postponement as much upsc candidates want and also let's not forget that these are two huge exams which fill the military posts in defence forces so postponement or delay can havenegative impact because already there is shortage of officers in military. And there is also an age limit beyond which defence forces can't hire its recruits and they hire very young like aroun 19 for NDA and 24 for CDS. Military is as important for this country as is civil services. So upsc won't just think about CSE only before making any decision. One thing is clear if NDA happens on 6th September CSE will happen too.
