[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

The only true controversial questions

1. Non financial debt

2. Minister ->6 months (this to me should be D, but UPSC has used the word "can", and there's no limiting terms like all or any, so can't rub off the notion that UPSC treats that as a general statement)

3. Desher katha. This will ultimately depend on what UPSC considers was deuskars context. Chances are towards 1n2 though.

Don't think rest are doubtful or anything. Rakhmabai is settled at 2n3 and preamble should be D as SC clearly stated that the objectives of preamble are a part of basic structure, and secularism has been kept as a reason for using 356 in bommai. Also, FRs do reflect objectives of the preamble. Thus while obviously the idea of liberty equality doesn't have a legal sanction associated, you can obviously generate a legal sanction wrt the FR that guarantees u the same.

Blockchain, AI aren't really controversial. We shouldn't take every question that some other institution has marked different as controversial, coz then unacadrmys jatin verma has lisa pathfinder as answer, which we should accept is wrong.

Apart from these there will be added impact of cancellation of the gandhi irwin question. That's most probably 2 marks gone for all, which means cutoff will drop by 2 marks, in all probability.

Agree..Rural employment growth wala question is settled??

@tss Niti aayog has a 2017 report which says rural employment growth has decreased. Also, I don't know why there is an issue with this question. We are seeing migration and urbanization which is ultimately leading to more jobs in urban areas. Even if jobs are increasing in rural areas, does not mean growth rate of such jobs is increasing.

To me, vision has gone for mindless overkill. The explanations are low quality. And it has tried to do the sasta trick of how its test series were good and shite. Tho, truth remains, bar barasingha and Interest coverage ratio nothing came from visions 35*100 and 4 abhyas tests.  Also, don't think one really needed to do 3500 questions and waste 10 days for something as trivial as barasingha and your ICR.

The only true controversial questions

1. Non financial debt. Well the definition of this is problematic af. Most webpages have this written as "issuer" of debt, in which case 3 only. Reading it in context of ibc its 3 only.

What's the consensus on Blockchain and AI then? I guess UPSC will go for a generalized reading in case of AI.

Yes. If the statement given by UPSC has been remotely in practice or "even exists as a concept that has prolly seen fruition only in labs" UPSC takes it as correct. Thus there's such a push towards D-fication of SnT answers. But this too will break some year.

Okay, I forgot this question but have doubts on cyberinsurance too. That's like 4 questions. Every year we have these 4 5 qs. Aadhar, to me shankar has it correct. As is AI. Nalsa I didn't attempt, so can't say.

@Biradar r u sure Gandhi Irwin will get cancelled??

Would be amazed if it doesn't. Would prove how much UPSC gives a fuck about the exam.As much as we have it correct, lets accept that logically either it should be cancelled, or marks given to all or marks given to those who attempted

@Biradar Marks can be given to all those who attempted it.But cancelling too will be unjust to students of other languages.

@Aspirant123 Sorry to burst the bubble. The scheme for transgender is there for every state. You can check by visiting each states legal service authority dashboard.  For eg; https://nalsa.gov.in/dashboard/TN this is for Tamil Nadu. And scroll down a bit further, you will find"Legal aid beneficiaries"  and scheme is provided for "transgender"  even though there is no beneficiary availed for that particular year.  But there isnt anything provided for "senior citizens"

For those who want to know for their states, visit https://nalsa.gov.in/dashboard and click on the state you want to view and scheme has provided for Transgender even though beneficiaries are few in most states but nevertheless transgender is still eligible for availing it.
So no ambiguity in this question. Sorry folks

@visionman U have checked every state or just checked 2-4? Anyways I always considered it as negative and most suitable answer to be 1&2.
