Answer - C

@sstarrr @D503  motabhai got heavy US investment last year that's why it is there in this list but still at second.

Why was Gujarat well known? It was second from past 2-3 years, behind Maharashtra.

Also, what were the top sectors receiving FDI? Shraddha ho toh

It was not second, it was first from last 3-4 years.

1. this report says Gujrat has been at the top since last 3-4 yrs

2. Maharastra and Gujrat were close competition  - somewhere down the memory line I read somewhere the Gujrat attracts most FDI

Reasons I could decipher is :

1. Vibrant gujarat summit

2. New GIFT centre : even though its not working ekdum efficiently but then its there

3. Business environment in Gujarat

Not sure about these new links. I checked dpiit website for FDI inflows statewise.

There is a bit of mixup as they've given FDI through RBI regional centres and at some places proper statewise categorisation.

Yeah. Bit confusing. I don't know. Maybe I will go with newspaper reports. And the answer key also says so .

I guess 2020-21 position is enough. Only that would matter in exam and this part is pretty clear.

where did english establish their first factory in india? Surat or masulipatam. Spectrum says they got the right to trade at masulipatam in 1611 but the factory came along only by 1616, whereas the factory at surat was established in 1613

The East India Company arrived first at Surat, India in 1608. Surat was the port used by the textile manufacturers of GJ. Portuguese already had trading arrangements with the Mughal authorities and thus had an advantage. A factory was eventually established at Surat in 1612 when the Portuguese fleet was defeated by the English.

East India Company had since 1611 been based at Masulipatam on the Coromandel coast but not a factory.

doubt :

1) Target is 20 % by 2025 or 2023

2) 10 % is by 2022

@RAGNAROK Your 2nd point is correct, it's just that the 20% blending target is for 2030.
