Official: SFG / RLG All Tests Discussions in one place

Hello All,

The Group usage here is a little cumbersome, so I am creating this thread to make sure that all questions with doubts stay in one place. Can someone push all the doubts and queries here? I will make this an announcement?

Test 37, Q40

Doesn't pendency of cases affect Resolving insolvency and Enforcing contracts as a measure of EoDB?  IIRC, Eco Survey - 18 also talks about need to reduce pendency of cases to improve  EODB.

The question specifically asks for the components of the Ease of Doing Business Report.  And according to world bank reduction injudicial pendencyis not one of the components. The component is Resolving insolvency.Sometimes you do not have you choose the best option that is available.

As perthe Coinage Act, 1906,the Government of India has the sole right to mint coins and the responsibilityfor coinage vests with the Government. But, The coins areissued for circulation only through the Reserve Bankin terms of the RBI Act.

Functions of RBI

The issuer of the currency:

Issues and exchanges or destroys currency and coins not fit for circulation.

Objective: to give the public an adequate quantity of supplies of currency notes and coins and in good quality.

These statements are taken verbatim from the RBI Website.

The PSS Act, 2007 provides for the regulation and supervision of payment systems in India and designates the Reserve Bank of India (Reserve Bank) as the authority for that purpose and all related matters. The Reserve Bank is authorized under the Act to constitute a Committee of its Central Board known as the Board for Regulation and Supervision of Payment and Settlement Systems (BPSS), to exercise its powers and perform its functions and discharge its duties under this statute. The Act also provides the legal basis for “netting” and “settlement finality”. This is of great importance, as in India, other than the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system all other payment systems function on a net settlement basis.

The Question asks 'India is not a member of which of the organizations given above?'.  The others given in the options are also part of World Bank Group. India is not a member of ICSID.

By that logic, labour market regulationis not a component in EoDB report. There are only 10 components, I don't know from where did Forum come up with 11 factors. They are giving same explanation since past 2 tests, which is wrong.  I am attaching official ranking screen-shot.

Also, question is askingwhat factors are taken into accountnot what aresub-indices (which are components of EoDB)

Sir question is not about components but about  factors
What are the factors they consider in component 'enforcing contract'?
Plz clear the doubt.

@Hayagreeva there are 2 separate things, one is the Doing Business Report and another is the EoDB index. While EoDB index is calculated on the basis of only 10 parameters, the 11th parameter (labour market regulation) is included in the Doing Business report.

Bhai Read the question! It asks about the Ease of Doing Business Report not index. They are different.

Regulations affecting11 areas of the life of a business are covered:

starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, resolving insolvency andlabor market regulation. The labor market regulation data are not included in this year’s ranking on the ease of doing business.

I am not making this up and neither is forum probably( can't say because I am not the representative), This is from the official report. You can search for the keywords 'labor market regulation'.

Also, the explanation is from Ramesh Singh.

Attaching both the links because you probably won't google yourself!

I hope this clears your doubts!
