Official: SFG / RLG All Tests Discussions in one place

Hello All,

The Group usage here is a little cumbersome, so I am creating this thread to make sure that all questions with doubts stay in one place. Can someone push all the doubts and queries here? I will make this an announcement?

not much of a convincing answer. anyhow this is similar to one of the earlier sfg questions that had linked declining bee population to soil erosion.

Should we really consider such indirect consequences as correct statements? I mean, in this example itself going by the given explanation, it is similar to saying that ocean acidification may cause forest fires, which is not the case, right.

Test 33, Ques 4:  as per upsc answer key, statement 3 is wrong

I just checked that the question was from 2012 UPSC Prelims. But the recent studies and journals, particularly from 2013, support the statement. You can check these links https://www.nature.com/news/rising-ocean-acidity-will-exacerbate-global-warming-1.13602 and https://www.the-scientist.com/the-nutshell/ocean-acidity-affects-climate-38812

@Disciple well I guess this could be the answer, but both studies point out that temperature has a bigger role to play than the acidification itself on DMS concentration. I guess@Mzp6628 's logic of "may be" being the keyword is correct after all.

@Simranmanocha  It is vulnerable(VU) . But certain oceans show declining populations and  others show improvement. So it is believed that certain sub populations are critically endangered. But overall status is VU.

For Q.1) The information mentioned in the second statement is from the NSM website, but I guess it is old. You have pasted a recent link. I hope they take a note and change the answer.

Q.3) They probably will consider it while making the rank list.

Test 34 Question 21:

Consider the following statements regarding the Money Bill:

1. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha is authorised to decide whether the Bill is a Money Bill or not.

2. It has to be introduced in the Lok Sabha as per Article 110 of the Constitution.

What does the second statement mean in this context?
A-110 does not contain the procedure to introduce the money bill but what constitutes a money bill. It does create a doubt whether it talks aboutArticle 109 i.e: special procedures to introduce a money bill

It probably means that it has to be introduced in the Lok Sabha as per the provisions of Article 110. I understand what you are saying, but the statement indicates otherwise. As in, A Money Bill can be introduced in the Lok Sabha if it contains the provisions of the imposition, abolition, remission, alteration or regulation of any tax;( this second part is as per article 110).

sfg test 34, Q34.

statements wrt National Bamboo Mission.

Krishonnati Yojana has 12 missions/sub-schemes including National Mission on Sustainable Agri....& also MIDH (Mission on Integrated Development of Horticulture).

https://pib.gov.in/Pressreleaseshare.aspx?PRID=1580432

While the correct statement in Q34 says that Nat Bamboo Mission is sub scheme of National Mission on Sustainable Agri....I couldn't find it under this. However, as per what i know its a sub-scheme of MIDH instead.

@forumiasacademy

I would like to bring into your notice that January 2019 edition of factly, Page 37 has mentionedPM as the chairman of NTCA. Though it is not a big issue and can be easily verified but it creates a doubt over the credibility of Factly as a source to rely upon for Prelims.
I hope such issues are resolved and if needed a re verification of the monthly booklets be done to ensure reliable content to study.
Rest i am very thankful to ForumIas for their tenacious efforts to support the students even in these grave times.
