Which is the best pen for UPSC Mains?

In terms of comfort while writing for long periods, a non-interrupting ink, glide over the paper, water resistance etc.

@lalitha_shravani I don't find it(Hauser Tech 5) too light on paper. For me, it's completely fine.

Guys, need some help. I tend to write by putting some extra pressure on paper. I fear that thin nibs might break due to pressure while writing fast. Also I prefer medium thickness pen. (V5 doesn't suit any of the above situation). Any suggestions?

PS: I used Reynolds Racer Gel in Mains 2020. but the problem is that due to pressure the ink comes out of nib often and I had to wipe it off again and again.

Should be apt as per your stated requirements

Those preferring V5 should try its grip version (V5 grip). While writing for longer durations, like the mains, normal V5 will cause pain on the finger. The grip version provides some relief in that regard.

I have been trying out different pens for answer writing, settling on Butterflow recently. Has anyone written with Cello Butterflow in Mains Answer copy before?

1. Does the ink reflect in the backside of the paper? (Sometimes, in classmate notebooks the ink gets reflected in the backside of the written page)

2. Is the inkflow consistent and bold enough? Since many people have advised Roller pens for bold answer scripts.

3. If someone can advise on a pen similar to or better than Buterflow out of their experience, that would be great.

Gel or ball?

Recently got my hands on uni Click-Gel. It really relieved the pain and cramping in my hands (mainly around the thumb joint). It is ergonomically built and the grip is thick enough to provide enough support and relieve muscle stress.

@DM Gel Pen, ball pens have a lot of friction, reduces speed and increases pain
