Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?
This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.
Very sad ..my neighbour died while going thru corona treatment in hospital due to cardiac arrest ..deeply shocked..was just reading covid death cases..in newspapers..never expected a covid death so near me..
May his soul rest in peace!
Sadly the cause of the death would be recored as cardiac arrest not the Covid and then they will show you how less people are dying in india due to the disease..
Just to be clear, Anudeep durishetty, in his 5th Attempt, got 108 marks in Prelims 2017, the year he topped. And 2017 wasn't a very tough nut either, pretty balanced. He might have had studied pretty much everything GS needs in all 5 attempts, cracking it in 3rd. Numerous examples everywhere.
I do not understand these online test marks to be very honest. I am studying diligently from the past 3-4 years and I can vouch that in a test if I am getting 120 around, nobody can get 200. 160-170 I can comprehend, not full marks. People may call it overconfidence but you have that feeling inside you. I feel people cheat in these tests. Simple.
Have enough faith in yourself and be happy to be around that 100 marks corner, constantly striving to improve.
For context, check out Insights culture tests, pretty typical and highly factual from random depth, still, people I see have 180 marks. I just do not buy it. I think these high marks are coaching bots to make you anxious and have you join their other courses.
Have faith in yourself.
I see a lot of people worry about marks and others scoring High. I used to top such tests(vaji)in first attempt .. but ended failing first attempt..
After that i didn't join any pre test series but downloaded and practiced vision , insights , vaji paper and pyqs....(i cleared everytime irrespective of not joining test series or caring about marks)
I never was worried about the marks too , when i solved i just see what mistakes i make and correct it (like sometimes i read the description wrong like choose the correct one or incorrect one , when i learnt it i always make a line under the correct , incorrect words in the questions (these types of small things help a lot)) ,i also see what guesses work and what doesn't work .
Remember friends its an aptitude test . The knowledge takes a back seat many a times here , see the past 3 yr questions upsc asks such arbitrary questions manytimes , but believe me u can connect the dots with something u have studied somewhere and answer those . Many a times UPSC is testing such analytical abilities to make connections. And that comes from preparing well and being extremely confident .
Just don't care about any such marks , just practice lots of questions from test series , pyqs , revise a lot and be cool in exam.... Thats all matters.
ps : Hope it helps someone and reduce their anxiety
peace ✌️😎
this test turned out to be a nightmare. Got the worst percentile score yet- just 34 days before the exam
.
Although the score seems genuine to me as the highest is 156 and the rest of the top 500 scores also look decent.
Don't get intimidated. Try to work upon your mistakes. 500th rank had 106 marks and you should strive for the same. In my opinion, try to be in triple-digit rank among 5000-6000 people as it will give you a moral boost. Other than that, the tests has no such utility.
Really, last few posts were very encouraging. I'm also scoring between 70-80 in vision FLT
Need one more suggestion, what attempt do u consider safe in mocks or previous prelims u have given. I'm getting about 20 questions wrong and attempt between 70-80 questions.
Do SWOT analysis of your own. Like in next test, attempt 90 questions and check the result. Do it for 95, 100, 85 and gauge your marks. Thats the best way to do. Keep rocking.
