[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

See, if you have revised multiple times and still feeling fearful then the issue itself is different. It is not the knowledge but the pressure of exam which is haunting you. Don't take that pressure now.
I would tell you few things, see if it helps.
1. If you feel fearful about studies, then simple thing is to not study anything at that point of time.
2. Then what is to be done, as you mentioned that you were unable to recollect data in previous attempts, so I would advise you to take the question paper of previous year with you and just try to recollect what things were going through your mind when you saw that particular question. What was your state of mind.
3. Try to jot down your feelings on a sheet of paper, what you are feeling currently. Also try to recollect the exact scenario which you went through on the day of exam and one day prior to it.

@Lbsnaa2021

Don't talk to many people, don't run from poll to post for advise now. Just think about your mistakes and take a vow on one thing that I won't repeat the same mistake yet again. For instance if you got a question on constitutional development wrong say in last year, this time you should get it absolutely correct.

And please don't solve mock papers now, it may bring down your confidence further, for the mock tests being made these days!! God save the aspirants from wrath of such filthy questions.

I would also like to add a cricket analogy here, which I read in an interview of Harsha Bhogle. He said when best batsman of the world are out of form and they cone to net practice, usually the best bowlers would be bowling them the lose deliveries so as to boost them psychologically. Just try to connect to it.

Have a great day.

right answer for question no. 32??

The question simply asks about introduction of separate electorate for women and that was in GoI act 1935. Also it introduced separate electorate for labour class.

right answer for question no. 32??

Since I don't have the book with me right now, otherwise I would have rechecked for myself and would have also uploaded the picture here.

If my memory serves me correctly, I think the answer should be C, 1919. Provision was made in the act, but was left for provincial government to implement or not. The question nowhere asks for central legislature.

I will not be debating on this, just telling what I remember.

@Rambo93 Haha!! Since he/she wanted an authentic source then what better than the Act itself. Otherwise, it is given in Laxmikant( but then it is not an authentic source).

The link will forward you to a page where there are links to webpages of climate based organizations. in the last two years, two questions seem to have been picked up directly from here. If time permits, visit the pages and make some notes out of them. Cheers !

Following are the screengrabs of the things i just mentioned.

The page the link will take you to looks like this.

The following are the two questions picked up verbatim from these links.

#Unrelated mention

I rarely find someone saying Laxmikant is not an authentic source. Good that you point out. Some take it as gospel of truth. It's a book ffs. There are many mistakes in it.

reminds me of foucault =there are no truth, only discourses....lakshmikant ka discourse is better than anybody else's.

@AzadHindFauz Hmmm.. Takes a lot of understanding to understand this. I believe you have a good understanding of things in UPSC.
Well there are many more related truths about UPSC but let them be hidden as they are from so many years.

Foucault also tells not to take any discourse on its face value and keep looking for what might be closer to the ultimate truth :p

(Take it on a lighter note)
