[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

My small suggestion

Although I failed in CSAT this year but able to manage GS upto my satisfactory level.

Last year I solved around 40-45 tests of different coaching institutes but was scoring around 95 only(Not Qualified for mains)

This year I solved only 2-3 tests of coachings

But did exhaustive research on PYQs, It helps alot

For example Last year I marked the gases ( biomass burning wala question by eliminating Ozone and got wrong.

I solved the PYQs and analysed the trend in gases wala questions UPSC usually give all the options as correct

And Same benzene wala iss baar puch liya I marked D without hesitation.

Mass hysteria hua pada hai Test series, Answer Writing, CA Magazines etc.ka

FOMO (Fear of missing out) ke chakkar mai exam ko miss kiye jaa rahe hai.

@Witcher exactly, unnecessary glorification and social media limelight is the real culprit. The are other exams too, they don't get this much attention. Thanks to this internet revolution and thus, rise of social media (youtube is a market place now everybody is selling something). This need for validation and tags (IAS, IPS) is driving people insane that they are willing to let go of the best and most crucial years of life chasing these society defined so called prestigious jobs. People don't even realise how much they loose in this random process. I don't want to sound like a narcissist here bcoz i'm myself an aspirant. But I have learnt lesson important this time, that is, don't loose too much in this process that you are not able to recover from that.

And trust me on this one you won't be able to recover anything from it. Saying this from the frank discussion i have had with people in government. Your quality of life will me much better with any mnc job preferably abroad.

Go for it. Get on with mains preparation. A lot of people make the same mistake and then they are left with 45 days for mains preparation. At least focus on your optional till then

@KratosOfPUBG yes that's true, quality of life and standard of living and facilities are better abroad. Take example of well off civil servants, doctors or engineers for that matter. They mostly send their children abroad and want them to settle there.

@KratosOfPUBG then why are people working abroad in mncs are quitting job n preparing? Can't get this thing

Evolve is the only one with equilateral triangle distance 2.5 million though. Pathfinder on the other hand, no triangle. Sri Lanka is our largest trading partner in SA only one option was correct

That's bcoz they can't settle in some countries. It's difficult to get permanent residence there and it is a long process, they are mostly on a work visa, though this may not be the sole reason but a major one. But it easier to settle and get PR in countries like Canada and Australia. And trust me suddenly there is migrant boom in canada especially of people from sub-continent.
