[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

13 years wait for Indians to get a green card in USA, not sure about canada. You get green card if your company retains you for 13 years. But they generally do.

Bro it's very easy in Canada. if you apply via PR process, you get PR on arrival. Meaning you will get PR even before landing in Canada. Based on that PR you can look for jobs based on your skill or even stay in Canada as long as you want. And after 3 years you become a Canadian citizen enjoying all the benefits like free healthcare and pension. Such easy is the process there. There is another route too that is via study visa, it just takes little longer than PR process but overall very easy compared to other countries. Why do you think there is a craze for Canada in Punjab?😀

According to me the controversial questions are:

1. Artificial intelligence

2. Cyber Insurance

3. Desher Katha

4. Minimum number of days requirement for parliament session

5. Judicial review and basic structure

6. Age of consent

For other doubtful questions: evolved LISA is the most appropriate among the four options, although not perfect. Similarly genetic modifications wala q, D seems to be most appropriate, again not perfect.

@gauravbrly409  I yesterday saw a graph not currently finding it. It was clearly reflecting that though trade has increased but not consistently. From 2013 to 2014 there was decline in trade and in one more year if I am able to recall.

I sometimes wonder why Upsc don't set up easy papers (mostly from standard sources) and let the cutoff rise by itself. Those who perform better will get through. Even though cutoff go to 150+, it would at least reduce the role of luck and tuckebazzi to some extent.

PS. - those who are thinking of backup, SEBI grade A forms are still open to apply till 31st. (Only for CA, CS, Engineers, and post graduate)

@rafael It can be argued that Parliament has to meet two times in a year because of the maximum gap of 6 months between 2 sessions. So 2 days are the minimum number of days, though not directly mentioned in the constitution but it is implied. That's why the question is dubious. It will be interesting to see what will be the official answer. Probably due to questions like these the answer key is released after the whole process, haha.

@Dead Man I second you.

Asking random questions from anywhere .. Just make you feel sad even you worked hard.

I never felt anything for any exam ... for my score which have fair stickness towards syllabus recommended. I think UPSC can go deep within the syllabus prescribed than throwing randomness.

For India sri lanka ,

That statement is right.

Trade Performance

Bilateral trade between India and Sri Lanka has increased by around 9 times between 2000-01 and 2018-19. Total trade between the two countries was US$ 6.2 billion in 2018-19, out of which India’s exports to Sri Lanka were US$ 4.7billion and imports were US$ 1.5 billion. Although India has always had a trade surplus with Sri Lanka, the gas has widened since 2008-09

Also .. why i marked this as true :

Also .. Ye vikramsinghe india aaya the modi ji se paisa maangne to usne .. Trade deficit ko lekar modi se baat ki thi. Us waqt Business standard ki news me bhi iska jikar thaa... but .. I am not able to find that news.

However, Uske basis pe hi .. I marked 1 as true.

Coaching waale going ao much technical nazi on few questions .. and Not being nazi on few questions (wirless transmission of elec .. ko sahi maan ke baitha hai sankar .. ... pata nahi bachho kya churan bechta hoga ye )

True bro Coaching wallas have no proper knowledge. There are just going by the tricks which they have developed seeing past upsc papers and many senior aspirants know these tricks and they are available on YouTube too.

For instance, trick#1 steady increase or steady decrease mark it wrong bcoz there cannot be any steady increase/decrease in any thing.

Trick #2 in S&T questions containing many general statements, mark them all correct bcoz that has been the trend. And many coaching wala are selling these tricks on youtube now. But this trick proved successful yesterday as many questions of S&T had all statements correct and D as answers in them. So knowledge takes a backseat here in this kind of paper. Coaching wallas trying to become a guru while they themselves have no proper knowledge and just relying on tricks. Actually it's not their fault either, nature of the exam has been reduced to speculating and wild guessing by the paper setter
