Actually.. our assessment of the term average/good/excellent may not match with that of the evaluator..

U might expect 2 marks for blue led.. but may end up getting 5 if evaluator things wrote as per his expectations..

@HankShrader I would love if they give more marks😅😅
May be in GS 2 GS 4 they gave more marks as few got 120-130 too.
However, in GS 1 highest was 115 and GS 3 it was around 110
More than 5-6 marks looks very liberal.

Blue led me agar led ka simply likha ho. Then ye avg hoga ya below avg.? Ya zero?

@Sahilkumar Haan post normalization/moderation ,effectively 3.5/4 for average answers 4/4.5 for good 5-6 for excellent answers.

Then we should calculate our marks considering normalization. I think

Good answer: 5 nd 7.5

Excellent: 6 and 8 or 8.5

Average: 4

Poor attempt: 3

Namesake 2

Just wrote any thing like just gdp definition in q1 of gs3: 1

0 is generally not given in subjective paper

If we assume 3.5 for all 10m and 6 for all 15m

Any gains made in a question over that avg marks will cancel losses in others

3.5*10+6*10= 95

maybe 100 odd in ethics but 95 looks like an okayish score for GS 1,2,3

Ultimately optional and essay will be the real decider of cutoff etc

@Street_lamp If one completes each question with atleast average content and no missing of demand, one can get 95+

in youtube channel

a experienced person says that

agar q nai bhi aata ho , toh usse related jo bhi pata hai wo likh do bas question ke according. demand ke according

ye sab tareeke hain marks laane ke

@Forumite Hopefully 95~ atleast for ppl who have attempted all questions addressing the demand with basic content

But it baffles me when someone says they have left 1 1/2 Qns but still score 100+ , maybe presentation and stats have higher weightage I guess

@Capedcrusader1 yeah I feel the same

IMO writing some basic one line fact and expanding on it is better than leaving it blank

@Street_lamp Its possible because may be they saved time in the questions where they would have got marginal marks.
Rather,  that saved time can be used to write neatly, meeting demand ,diagrams etc.

The words *addressing the demand with  basic content* are very very subjective.. n most difficult to achieve..

All those who attempt mains should get 95 in all papers by this logic..

Many toppers..like AIR 65.. scored 75 in GS 3 in 2019.. how do we explain that then

@Street_lamp if you know question all that well, you wouldnt take more time in it in the first place.
this is 1 thing i learnt from mocks.
if i knew all questions, then most certainly i would never face any time issue.
time issue comes when questions are twisted, demand unclear, lack of practise etc

Yeah never could generalize but I was just trying to think of an basic threshold

But Even predicting that in mains evaluation seems difficult

This is something that's troubled me for a while now. What if the evaluators actually read our answers scripts thoroughly. Maybe it's all about the content and coherence. We may have a lot of content which is really not of much coherence. An average answer has to satisfy the demand too. I mean of it really was about sticking to ibc, using diagrams and flowcharts, and other ptesent

there is no such thing as coherence in gs answers.
