How was your paper? How did you approach the paper?
nagaraj judgement:
it asked government to look into sc creamy layer too.
st i cant remember
really looking forward for government to take steps in this direction
But those getting to lick the cream won't let the status quo change..
I feel a bit disheartened when my colleague gets same salary..reads same books but gets qualified just because he was born in a particular caste..
Get rank 500.. still get IAS.. In gen.. rank 80.. won't get ias.. problem is all those around me having availed reservation benefit belong to well to do families..
Now discrimination is not on caste.. but economic status..
U have money..u can enjoy lavish life..get club membership.. if you are poor..no matter which caste..u cannot enter the gate..
Indeed there should be creamy layer in all categories..
See example of meenas in rajasthan.. politically dominant..living style is luxurious..
But claim to be tribals.. that's another debate altogether.. any result u see.. st category is eaten up by meenas..
Anyways.. this is india.. we have to learn to live and assume that seats are only 40%...
Rightly said brother , 40% seats. Highest cutoff to cross Yahi reality hai . One distant friend of Mine is from reserved category . No worry of attempt/age , economically well off recently his father bought him ipad . Wahi coaching wahi testes series all facilities available to him .
And then the Media says that these 40 percent are privileged, arrogant and do not care for the poor. Seriously ?
Just saw vision analysis of GS 3. He says paper this year is more 'doable'. Agreed there were many factual questions. seeing the analysis, i feel only I am doomed one. To summarise my attempt:
1. Getting 0 (no attempt): Blue LED and Air Quality.
2. Charity marks: S-400 (nothing specific).
3. Below average (1-2 specific points only): GDP revision.
4. Average: NFSA (could not recall provisions except 2-3 specific), last 3 decades earthquake disasters.
5. Good: cop 25 outcome and panchamrit answer was well memorized.
Is this performance too disastrous and should I not keep any hope? Or has it been like this for most of us who have actually written in exam conditions?

Sabka near about yahi haal hai.. lekin isme bhi kuch aise log rahenge jinhone accha answer likha hoga in saare qs bas wohi curve ke aage honge aur hum sab average me aa jayenge

Bro accept this as a bitter truth. More u talk on this more u vl feel bad. Just accept that u hv to get in top 72 rank to get IAS. Make ur targets accordingly. Realize that u hv no room to commit mistake. So leave this topic. And also discussing on it will not change the reality. Just thank god that there r 40 percent seats available for open competition. Otherwise few years from now it may become just 5-10 percent.
Friends,
From the discussion going on in Tele groups..
I could make out that many there were expecting above 800 this year..
Even 2 of my friends said that they did extremely well..
Not to demotivate others but I feel cut off will certainly rise this year ..
Please don't be obsessed with blue led..s400.. GDP.. population education.. who guidelines n all..
They are some difficult questions asked every year..
Either I m in the group of some really talented candidates this year or they are being over optimistic..
Whatever the case.. going by popular opinion..I predict cut off to go 750+ this year..
Competition is peaking folks..
Brace yourself..

Whattttt..
I thought only me and @philipmarlowe guy were expecting beyond 800..
Looks like competition has increased more than our expectations this year..
Corona effect probably..
By the way how have you performed.. your expectations??
As a matter of fact.. only odd 1800 would be called for interview.. though around 5000/10000 believe that they have performed sufficiently well..so clearly there is case of over optimism.. those having appeared mains earlier have greater chance of evaluating themselves in a more fair manner..I mean not over estimating themselves..
Rest..cloud would be clear in a week hopefully..
