Geography optional Mains 2019 discussion | Lessons Learnt
Where are all the poor souls of geo in forum ?
Guys... What do you think about paper 1 ? Would it be like 2017 where people claimed they got much more than expected due to some lenient correction ?
Similarly in paper 2 I found that I had very less case studies and facts to quote on paper. Pls do comment so that we can have a gauge of the way optional is going.

@Bubba_gumpi dont remember exactly but it was a total disaster in paper 1
@Scorpion888500 at guidance is the real steroid man....pumped me up like anything. But yes I would suggest to do guidance only when your fundamentals are strong otherwise useless. But bro leaving 40 marks blank is not good idea. Even I did not know few 10 markers but wrote something. Let's hope to crack mains ...cheers.
@Hartshornesahi bat h ...I was demoralised to an extent that I thought of taking some other optional.
I have decided to give 2 months to optional . I will be reading books.
@Hartshornei left them coz i was not having any knowledge about them.
In paper 1 i left transpiration and hartshorne boundary whereas wrote something about tambolos etc.
In paper 2 left one 10 marker due to time

@Scorpion888except a few ques, many were open ended. I did not know transpiration, phreatic, grr and few others. But I attempted most of them. Sandspit one I guessed on spot and got partially correct ( knew it was coastal landform). Phreatic I wrote some sh#t which is partially ok. Replacement rate ques also partially ok. Rest mostly went fine for me. Mapping also 7/10 on map but explanations are clumpsy. Let's see how it comes up.
@Bubba_gumpmaybe you should work on fundamentals more. I did my homework so found classes very interesting.

@Hartshornein phreatic i got somewhat correct as made a diagram showing water plus magma eruption under pressure but consequences i was not so sure.
Grr was also just okish.
Sandspits wala i connected with depositional feature and wrote about in a page only.

@Scorpion888280-90 plus would be expected as many people found the paper tough. Upscaling might affect the marks also so I am hoping for good scores. 1st mains so I might be overoptimistic.

@vvvikas0078212Bhai gs was ok. Gs1 geo part was good, gs2 okayish, gs3 was good and 4 better. I think 400+ is sure if marking pattern is same as 2018.
@HartshorneI don't like giving false hopes to people, but you for sure will clear it if something really bad doesn't happen.
