crossed my mind too after seeing my scores in last mains. But i demurred , should have taken the bitter pill.

@OmenI am out with Geography optional. Third mains. No interview. Geography as my seniors said is Ocean to cover. Much much lengthy. 20 chapters. In first paper... People used to say no need to read specific books... But UPSC started asking from it especially in physical geography.
Second paper optional is too varying from 110 to 180

After mourning for 1 day I have decided:
My edu background is good but I do not wish to go in private sector as have come from there.
So for the meantime will join a small private firm which will give time for studies.
Will give other govt. Exams with this job (have already done cat so aptitude isn't a problem) and will also prepare for upsc as base for upsc has been built.I couldn't get selected this time as I had content but 0 ans writing practise and not revising static books like spectrum between pre and mains.Socio to theek hai.
2020 mein umeed hai koi to govt exam nikal jayega (umeed pe duniya kaayam hai) fir I will leave this private job and will prepare for upsc with that govt. Job.
Preparing without job is very risky I have realized..Many of my seniors prepared full time but couldn't clear.Unka base ban gaya tha then they were able to clear with job.
Kaafi logon se aisa kiya like megha arora.
Umeed yahi hai..

@bevancomI also have a similar background (cleared CAT) but am very lost as to how to proceed. I have also come to the same conclusion that I don't want to go back to private job. I am also looking for a government job so that I can prepare side by side. Wish you luck.

They also have a plan to cover the syallbus in 3 months
