[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

@Sadhika We would rather be political correct and factually incorrect than the other way round, no? But that is how it is for most of the countries not just India. It simply is more prominent here because of the socialist intelligentsia running the roost for most of the post independence politics. However there is a clear shift now in the socio political intellectual space but all of that would only be fruitful of we become more rational as a nation of people. Otherwise it would only be an ideological flipflop with us getting only the worst of both worlds.

yes, well said and good observation.

#2 Infact, CBDT, Ministry of Finance has initiated enquiry against those IRS officers. They are being harassed for expressing their views in FORCE.

#1 looking at the condition of states of Gangetic plains( Bihar and UP) ORF is not unjust. These states were once cradle of civilizations, birthplace of 3 major religions of world and produced a huge chunk of bureaucracy. Infact, if one starts counting secretaries in present Union govt, right from cabinet secretary to finance, most of them would be born in gangetic plains. Still, these states are behind pakistan in per capita income and behind many african countries in other parameters. IAS were present in these states even before independence. State of Kerala and Gujrat got IAS officers only after independence and see their status. So, it is time to think about role of IAS in “Development and prosperity”.

NB- It is my personal observation. Will not write in exams.

I changed my centre at the very last moment of the deadline. Though I completed the entire process, I did not receive any confirmation email/sms, which I was expecting. I am in a dilemma whether my centre change or not. Did any of you guys receive a confirmation email/sms?

Shaibal Gupta is very good observer. His Patna based think tank ADRI- Asian Development Research Institute is doing quite well. But, since we are overwhelmed by think tanks of western world, we donot hear it quite often. Infact, national level think tanks and their reports like ORF or some other are never asked anywhere.

In the above article, he had also put forward “lack of sub- national identity” in Hindi heartland states while it is present in all other states.

@Agog  I have once heard by some ex- IAS officer no one wants to go to Bihar if someone is posted they took study leave 3-4 years and get back to Delhi.  Think about it if you are from Delhi , Mumbai or South will you go to Bihar which have earned a bad name culturally and administratively.
Recently a young IAS officer quit his job because he got posting in North East.

If u read my comment in isolation, it might create misinterpretation. It is in continuation of previous one.

It is well known fact that 50% of IAS would belong to the home state itself. The reaining quota of 50% IAS had large chunk from UP and Bihar till recent past. Though, that is on decline and almost every state is having equal share.
It is a sarcastic comment about IAS/AIS and their role in development of states of Gangetic plains viz. Bihar and UP. It is a critic of service which we are aspiring for.  So, donot go much into it.
Let us close it here.

☺️😊

@Nalanda Sanjeev Sanyal wrote, " the major structural problem with Indian intellectual life is that it was taken over mostly by those who had collaborated rather than opposed colonial occupation."  This explains so much.

But hey non violence got us freedom bro! :D

But for this prop How else you could've emasculated a nation and kill it's civilisational aspirations.

@Nalanda bhai,,your introductory lines contradict with your concluding paragraph. Gangetic plain was cradle of civilization so by virtue of that it will have best of the lots nd also the worst of the lots..It was blessed with Buddha as well as  angulimar daku. They had world best architecture,, remember chinese travellers comments about patliputra palace,, they had world best astronomy experts, rich literature on subjects ranging from astrology astronomy medicine, earthly pleasure to samadhi. Much before the "treaty of Philadelphia" which gave the concept of modern nations,,they had world first republic...So that's not the cause of the current sorry states of this region..Then what's the reason--
"The societies of this region are litigation societies"..History is full of stories of revenge,,feud between families, societies,,within families between it's members..Whether it's kaurav pandav,Ram-ravan,aur ramadhir singh and sardar khan-faizal bhaiya..its in their subconscious..Being too much argumentative..Is in their gene..Even an illiterate guy from this region can give a tough competition to a well read guy in debates on absurd topics.
Rahi baat IAS ki to..it has lived up it's life n relevance..21st century world doesn't need them. If you don't want to believe me then do a small experiment..Plan to start a new business in India once you done with this year interview.we will get thousands of reasons to hate them..If you are a passionate sensitive soul you may end in lockups for misbehaving with them.

its abt social recognition and relatives ..  its as simple as that . Also for a middle class salary , perks of IAS is too much..  u clear a exam and u get all of that for ur life .
