[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

@Dead Man Bhai, I can say with 99.9% surety that CSE Pre will be on 4th Oct, even if they delay NDA exam.

@Todd_Chavez Yes I started to think that exams will be conducted on schedule. After Karnataka high court refused to stop KCET I lost any hope that courts will stop exams being conducted on schedule.

Just when they delivered judgement allowing KCET to be conducted. Although doesn't impact if exams will happen on time or not.

K'taka HC said that the petition was not maintainable because they (students) did not approach the authorities (KEA) first. It's a technical issue, so the court cannot do anything. But the court wanted to help and asked the govt to reconsider the decision (Which means that the court was also of the opinion that it should be done later). The court did everything that was possible to help out the students.

The question is not about the court or govt, the question is about the feasibility. K'taka govt is going ahead with the plans because it knows that the situation is going to worsen and worsen in the state as we move towards Oct/Nov. That is why it is willing to take a risk and finish this exam before the situation worsens to the max, so that at least students can get admissions quickly to engg colleges as soon as the epidemic dilutes.

The HC judgment, or conducting of CET has nothing to do with UPSC CSE Prelims.

UPSC is taking very mature decisions by watching the situation every month. So, by August end you will know whether prelims will happen on Oct 4th or not. Until then, nobody knows anything.

This is the situation, everything is a number until it hits you. Then it becomes an experience, something that makes you think beyond numbers. Something like the debate between growth and development.

Sometimes I wonder what are we humans aspiring?

Are we so crazy that we value exams/age/job/material things over lives? No wonder there is so much pressure in everyday life. We have got our priorities messed up.

There's a situation that is unprecedented, and nobody has a clue about how to come out of it but people are worried about losing an year or whatever. Just crazy and a proper example of how ________ up humans are.

We can build an entire civilization from scratch if we live, but cannot bring back the dead. Wonder why people are still on the streets.

Fine, The govt wanted to conduct exams for some reasons.

But parents? Are they so blinded that they send out their children out in the virus infested areas where the 2nd maximum cases in the country are being reported since last 10 days. Bangalore is literally exploding with virus infections.

What on earth will parents lose if their child sits at home for an year? Just beyond reasoning. Everybody wants those goddamn degrees and jobs, even if that means killing your own.

Sorry, had to rant.

@pizzza general consensus in the government is that Corona is here to stay and we have to live with it. The way things are opening, it seems like by October month school and colleges might also be opened. Government is hell bent on conducting final year exams in September despite massive opposition to it.

Corona is here to stay and corona is also here to cause permanent health issues and even kill. Let the government do what it wants to, let us do what it is required to save our lives.

To all those who are making this exam as the matter of life and death..I am sharing one incident. There was a guy,,with an average academic records,,he became close to one of the mainstream political party and as a result got a berth as consultant in state government,,he worked in various department for few years and later on the state government sent his name along with names of state pcs officers to conferred IAS..And bingo he was conferred IAS too..Later he went to became the private secretary to the highest executive body of this country...So don't worry ,,there are people,,there are  many ways,,and there are many chances to achieve whatever you are aspire to become..Just wait for your right time.

People here are commenting about how they are tired of preparation and doing the same books again & again, and here is me, who is planning to leave a large portion of Ancient/Medival/A&C even though I got 4 months more. Sigh :(

Just completed reading new education policy2020 (60pgs). Very innovative and interesting. Don't miss reading it. All it needs is a 2hr investment.

60 pages in 2hrs only!!! Kindly share us how to achieve that speed.
