[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Thanks guys. Least bothered about exam. I can earn a living any day, just want me and my family to get out of the situation safe.

If there any major lesson from last one week, pls pls isolate from family even if it's a unsuspecting fever also. Hopefully the whole family won't get the damn thing. Healthy individuals in nuclear family are must to get through this.

We had to go to hospital from hospital in Uttar Pradesh (Azamgarh to Varanasi) because no one was admitting my brother's father-in-law (65+, Ex-army personnel, needed ventilator support. RAT was done in district hospital, came negative (sample was taken by our own hand) but symptoms were all of covid-19.
After going from Azamgarh to Varanasi same day, even in Varanasi no one took us in (APEX, Popular, Galaxy, Heritage)
Finally one hospital took us in gave treatment and we also took RT-PCR, then after 2 days report came positive. Then hospital asked us to take him somewhere else.
No ambulance came, even govt ambulance refused. We called CMO he said to wait for the night.
Finally we had to make some personal calls to people we know who managed a bed.
So keep safe and may you get some help. You can't really expect much. Maybe you will get treatments. You call everybody you know, or maybe someone will understand and help you. I don't know how God is gonna help but sure you can pray if you feel like.

Bro, giving the date of an exam and actually being able to conduct the exam are two very different things, even more so in the post covid19 scenario which calls for extra ordinary measures. Just a thought. Though I am not in favour of postponement either because the wait has been too long.

@Dead Man Or UPSC might club the 2020 and 2021 exams together, if the same situation continues. Aspirants might be at loss in case the vacancies are clubbed as fewer vacancies might come for 2021.
Nonetheless, nothing can be said seeing the gravity of pandemic and the ensuing uncertainty.

It will be so unfair for the people who got infected by this virus, there is high chances that while giving prelims people may get this infection, won't it be unfair and unjust for them.By no means situation seems to be okay or manageable by end of November, especially in Hindi hinterlands. If opposition parties of Bihar make this an election issue and ask for postponement of exams as well as election, then there is hope,Men in power will reconsider their decision, till then just prepare yourself for D-day.

Though entrance exams for colleges are in a separate category from upsc , for what its worth Karnataka hc just refused to postpone kcet after giving favourable comments all through the hearing. One strange reason is that the students came too late.

@Tyler Durden yeah, my guess is they may push it to December max, if they don't manage October but try they will.

Have been following the KCET case today during study breaks. Boy, it's been a cliffhanger. Karnataka High court was clearly sympathetic to cause of students. They pointed out numerous flaws in the arrangements made by Karnataka govt, even asked why govt was going through with it if even neet and jee have been postponed. Ultimately as state lawyer remained unyielding, High court has allowed the state to conduct the exam tomorrow, provided transport arrangements are provided to those in containment zones and covid patients. So that pretty much sums it up, unless government modifies it's stand, even milords cannot postpone the exams. Let's see what happens in UGC case

What the hell just happened in CET case. It was in favour of students. Now little hope for UGC case in SC. Situation is getting worse. However GoK is keen to conduct exams before JEE as the private colleges will secure admissions. Filling up their coffers.  And yes the judge was changed after the first sitting. May god help those students appearing for KCET. Bengaluru is the worst affected district in Karnataka right now.
I still feel Pan india exam is really tough in the current situation. Though not in favour but still nothing should be done in a hurry. Apparently"live with covid"has been deciphered wrongly by the masses. They totally forgot a sizable section cannot live with covid.

I am not able to understand as to why is Karnataka government hell bent on conducting the examination? If majority of the students are opposing it, then the govt should, politically speaking, simply pay heed to it.

Or is it just a minority who want the exam to be postponed?

@rafael Bhai, ghar pe jitna kaam main ek hafte me kar raha na, library me max 2 din.
I know kaafi risky hai, logon ke experience padhke aur darr lagta hai, but I assume ki agar 4 seats chod ke we make students sit, in a 100 seat library, dikkat ni honi chahiye. Just my opninion.
Trust me, had I been living alone, main gamble le leta. I know few underground libraries open and students going.  I mean it has 2.5% mortality rate and 85 % and above recovery rate. I am not saying not dangerous, just my perspective ki as a 24 year old, risk le sakte the. Apne apne compulsions hain.
But since I am with my family, kaafi bada risk hai if I bring it home. Vo ni kar sakte.
