[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Reading@Phagocyte and@Steve cases here makes me depressed.

This is the ground reality of our nation , healthcare system is  pathetic and dangerous.

On tv what we see is a glittering periphery of India where the issues are shown as difft.(rafel ,sushant ,mhrd) but the fact is the core of India is suffering and in painful condition at present.

Earlier we had daily briefing by health, home dept now when case is surging like hell no one seems to have seriousness of it.

Recently 1 of my friend tested covid +ve. Fear griped me ,i got full fear what if i too have contracted the virus. I had met him 8 days back before his result. I feared for my family ,i started feeling guilt, got depressed.

No study during these days, just prayed to show no symptoms. Luckily i am ok but i got near experience of,what the person or family go through when they get c +ve.

UPSC can take exam whenever it wants but only pray is, it should analyse the depth of the situation of the candidates and out nation.

Now graph is rising steadily in Bihar.Hope it dont become next Delhi or Mumbai.

its really frustrating man........... I failed to render any help to@Phagocyte
this inability :(((((((

Its really brutal to be that side when because of one family member everybody is infected and with no recourse on technology. Even the best of the countries, ppl are dieing like anything.  Thank god this part in INDIA is a little positive.

At the same time, I feel ashamed of the govt bodies (UGC, UPSC etc) that intend to conduct bloody exams.
see guys they cry for autonomy always. they are like govt interfering. we also mull over the autonomy and decentralization. imagine they have autonomy. I guess it will be devastating, they will just swipe over the students' life just to prove that they can show their supremacy........... bloody hypocrites. Many times get surprized to understand, am I preparing to become one of them????? I CANT BE LIKE THEM........ never been. Monsters!!!!

My uncle owns a  college in haryana , he told me UGC has directed universities and colleges here to give them in writing that they have no issues with final year exam being conducted . It wasn't an opinion based request but instead had a coercive tone. This is going to make their case stronger in the supreme court as no college dare to object them,  especially private colleges.

@iskool so true. Even if one recovers from this deadly disease, his lungs and hearts won't be same again. An USA research agency reported 80% recovered ones are found with permanent heart ailments and weaker lungs. I believe humans should go for hibernation just to buy some time till scientific community find a cure for it. Otherwise in order to save economy and normalize lives,, significant populace will be wiped out directly or indirectly.
Aur bhi ghum hai jamane me iss exam ke siwa..

Will exam gets postponed?

this question has no answer. It is popping up in almost every aspirant's mind and not only UPSC, i mean all competitive exams aspirants- JEE NEET. If you go on quora there are a plethora of questions asking the same-

" will jee postpone further  from September?"
"will Neet be conducted in September?"

And aspirants are puzzled, even CLAT students are puzzled as their exams are next month.

And there are 2 types of groups amongst these aspirants

1. Who want postponement

2. Who do not want postponement (mainly so called droppersin jee neet terms)
and they are fighting and abusing each other like anything.
However both the groups are right in their own sense (speaking about serious aspirants).

So it's not only us UPSC aspirants who are going through this turmoil. These late teenagers (about 30  lakhs +) are facing the same stress. Same reasons FOR and Against that are being represented in this same thread.

We are not alone, every student in the country is facing the same problem. Many have been affected by Covid like our brother@Phagocyte . Not only aspirants but their parents too.
So coming back to the question- Yes jee and neet is not the same as UPSC but it can be a litmus test for other National exams. Will show the mood of the respective bodies- how well they think they can manage it. Cause acc to me SOPs good look on the paper, ground reality differs. And yes not to forget aboutNDA, in a week we will come to know. However nothing can be said with full confidence as of now. Till now UPSC has been performing well by keeping in mind the dangers involved- be it interview or postponed pre.

At this crisis moment we can just keep our families and ourselves safe by not moving out unnecessarily. Covid is a curse for many. Keep your spirits high and meanwhile focus on 4th October.

Keep preparing and supporting each other.

It would be a real tragedy if one fails prelims even after extra 4 months of conscious study.... so sad.

As aspirants, it will be in our interest if exams happen on the scheduled date. I don't see any benefits in exam postponement with respect to a candidate's selection chances. So, why people are not happy if HC has not intervened? I mean there are high recovery rates for 20-30 year olds and if you stay with family you can isolate yourself. Isolation again is anyways better for preparation. This is a narrow perspective towards the whole conundrum but do we have anything more important to think about than getting selected in services?

There are a billion things more important in this pandemic than to think about than getting selected in services.. Just to clear your doubt!!

So interviews will be over today, n results will be out soon..  I was out of cse 2019 race in prelims itslf, n m now preparing for prelims 2020.

Just taking a moment to enjoy the peace before the storm of topper talks begins. Of first attempt toppers. Of genuine sons n daughters from humble backgrounds who will clear the exam without any coaching. Of some exceptional people who honestly share their experiences. Of ppl who give lame gyaan after clearing in heightened  self esteem. And of course  Of new advertisements of coachings, with trees with new toppers as the leaves..

Moments of peace.

Especially for those who were in a good position earlier to clear prelims on 31st may.

Just completed reading new education policy2020 (60pgs). Very innovative and interesting. Don't miss reading it. All it needs is a 2hr investment.
