[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Compensatory attempt. Hmm that is a very fair demand. But will anyone listen and pay heed?

U mean:
Gather your masks and sanitizers.
And be ready to play the russian roulette.

4th October is the day.

@johnny_distracted

Having quit my job, gambled everything that I had for this exam, I can now say that I am already Playing russian roulette since 2017.. 🤣😝

Candidates who have the experience of clearing or guiding students who have cleared the preliminary examination consistently, what would you recommend - solving + two revisions of 1 test series or solving + one revision of 2 test series?

@Thanos_ nahi milega.....bahut complex ho jayega....phir sab demand karenge....itna tension UPSC lena nahi chahega

@Thanos_ I do not know but that is something government should really consider. The situation really demands so. But cancel hona is very unlikely now.

Also everyone who is taking CLAT as precedent please know it's a very different kind of exam. They have limited manpower, conducted by nlu's and meagre involvement of state machinery. With the kind of manpower and resources at their disposal it was very likely to get postponed.

@Johnny_Distracted I've been around here more than you'd guess. Nothing of the sort will happen. Even if they sue, there shall be no remedy in the nature of postponing or cancelling exam. Attempt may be given. Perhaps you are too soft or the world is too brutal, but that's how it works. 'lol'

@Tejas14 it can really give it to those who don't write the exam or something like that. That takes care of the fact that someone detected postive would not want to write the exam.
Maybe they won't do it for the entire batch because that does an undue advantage to those who choose to write the exam when they have an option of not writing.

@Joeyisthebest or maybe for the last attempters.

@Handshake True that. Also this assumption of 1000s of court cases is too far fetched. People prefer getting into activism mode while sitting in the luxury of their homes. When it comes to taking action, they'd either skip the attempt or prepare.

Hello Friends

Just went through the answer key for  CSAT paper 2 2019.

Some of the passages were horrendous, such as the one about banking correspondents or the one that dealt with relationship between economic growth and employment.

( Questions 46 and 47 in Series A)

They throw universally accepted conventions for RC to the wind....

@Thanos_ no, doesn't work that way, extra attempt is messy business, has to be increased for everyone along with age relaxation. Unless they want to keep an option in the form for many years about those who had enrolled in 2020. As far as impact is concerned it is same for all, so last attempt folks can't be singled out for benefit .

@Ju_e_Sheer The standard of the UPSC exam has seriously gone to the dogs, but hey, put up with it! What else can we do!

Bhai log everything depends on sc judgement.....98% exam will be on 4th oct...

@Handshake but they won't do it. They will say we already postponed for 4 months giving a fair chance.

But judiciary is also more or less irrelevant these days.....

@Thanos_ true, most likely, but politicians may push it if they see a demand. Unlikely still.

@Rudra12 They generally don't go against constitutional bodies so easily. Past cases related to UPSC are evidence, and frankly this is an executive decision, shall be left to the sarkaar.
