[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021
Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

@K_9 lol...so you would appear for an exam and then crib that i got sick due to appearing in it..btw there was no vaccine of Spanish flu till 1940 . (22years and 2 world wars) people literally learnt to live with it.good luck with your vaccine waitbtw it presumptuous of you to assume that holding an exam would certainly spread corona when the no of appearing student would be far less than the total no of people queuing up outside the alcohol shops /or those travelling by trains now.
And yes, ofcourse I would crib about it. I signed up for taking an exam. I did not sign up for getting infected due to government's callousness and potentially infecting my family members who are more at risk. Stop with the non sensical comments. 😂

Ye image aapke vichaar shayad badal de. Baaki jinko seriously nahi lena, unko to bhagwan bhi nahi rok paega. This is for USA btw.

21st June--seems too early as trains too won't be available fully even in June.
28th-Date reserved for Engineering Services Mains
5th and 12th July-CBSE to conduct exams from July 1-15 They have already mentioned that schedule will be packed and they may even take exams on Saturdays and Sundays.
19th-a bit difficult but difficult to rule out totally.Jee Mains to be conducted in schools across 250+ districts from 18th-23rd
26th-NEET exam
Conducting simultaneous exams would mean trouble for administration and limited availability of school centres which means difficulty in maintaining social distancing.
So most likely it might be 2nd August.
Why it may not delay more?Govt response seems like it might take risk and delegate the responsibility on the people to maintain social distancing and safety (although it would be very difficult keeping in mind the population density).
We have to wait for CBSE n JEE to see if there r any major repercussions(Govt is confident that it will ensure social distancing.Lets time be the decider whether it will be a success or not)
The successful conduct of these exams might guide UPSC unless it takes altogether different approach and says no I want to conduct it in July itself.All the best to UPSC then.
As a student we have to be prepared for exams even if it happens in July.So prepare well everyone.Prelims is Coming.
As much as I want the exam to happen as soon as possible, I don't see it happening any time soon. It is simply not - and shouldn't be - a priority right now. I don't understand how dates have already been announced for JEE/ NEET etc. How will they ensure that the exam is conducted smoothly? How will they ensure social distancing? How will they ensure that nobody cheats? Surely they won't check everyone's mask, that would be counterproductive! Unless the government is openly opting for achieving herd immunity as a strategy (despite that strategy not being proven), I simply do not see how conducting an exam properly can be safe in an atmosphere such as this.
It is just such a huge challenge to conduct exams of this scale when the situation is such. I just do not think it is worth the risk to be frank.

Has to be the most ignorant comment on this thread. Read your words again in July and you will know how wrong you are. And also if time permits open up newspaper or google hospital situation in Mumbai. It's not hype. i can't believe people are still so much ignorant for their selfish reason so they can write one exam. Jisme 6 attempt mein bhi 99 % ka nhi hota . Better care for life than sarkari chakari. #justsaying

All trains cancelled till 30th June so many exams like up pcs prelims which was to be held on 21st June would cancel. Even more will get cancelled. Only if govt is hell bent in destroying all the efforts done till now, will they conduct exams that involve such mass gatherings.
The issue at hand is not normal at all. In my case, I stay inside a Govt. Colony which is a containment zone. After 14 day sealing, another person contracted and we got sealed again. I am not allowed to go outside, come what may.
Plus, just saw the news that Chhattisgarh state govt has cancelled it's class 10 and 12 board exams. The others like Telangana and Tamil Nadu, who have decided to hold the exams, are battling PILs in High Courts. Its not only executive's call. Judiciary will get involved eventually. Maybe, it will take a more rational call.

Govt was not ready ,couldnot understand the nature of corona so initiated lockdown immediately and this was the best decision. Despite lockdown situation in many parts are worst.
Now govt is opening not bcz virus is dead or some conspiracy theory is surfaced but bcz economy too need to be survived.
According to your guesses outcomes of spanish flu, cholera outbreak ,sars ....all were false.
@olympusbhai , I am not being ignorant , rather being too conscious about people who are dying of hunger and road ,rail accidents...what I was saying that fear of covid was spread at a over-inflated level.....now what the experts are saying ??? boost your immunity...…… and when everyone is expressing their thoughts...I too expressed ...isme aap itna serious kyo ho rhe ho...kaunsa modiji mera comment dekh kar exam jaldi karwa denge….and main to aug ka bola h yaar..tab tak kaafi time h...jis Tarah se last 3-4 din me govt. open kar rhi h...…..to kya govt b ignorant h....??? maine to jo feel kiya wo bola.....isme selfish... sarkari chakri aise harsh words kyo laa rhe ho bhai...…………..and july tak kya wait karna h....20 may tak upsc hi bata dega….kitna delay hoga exam...….
if we open too soon, there will be casualties and we will have to close down again. Rest it will be govt's call. i just don't want to risk several lives by going to crowded places till situation becomes normal.
