[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

@gauravbrly409 bhai... My scores in paper 2 in my last 3 attempts are 182, 160ish and 150ish...
And i am scoring around 150 this time too...

I am not saying this for myself

It was just a suggestion to help out my friends who are in border zone in paper 2.

Since its a qualifying paper, UPSC can be persuades to reduce the cutoff to 30 percent.. That us 60 marks...

I am not that selfish to request others to do something on behalf of me.

@Equalizer  same here .. Giving since 2015. It was the weirdest .. and toughest too.
why it is toughest ?
Do not judge it by how deep things have been asked. There are few different things to make it toughest.
1. Few Very very simple questions...  and then suddenly a wiered tough question.
2. You have to know Data about data to solve honestly. (Tukkas ka chal jaana maatra ek Sanyog hai - Workarounds are merely a coincidence of luck and bad logic)
3. lengthy statements.
4. More stuff asked in every question. ( for ex - 4 convention in 1 question ... 3 places in matching option etc ) .
5. In few of questions .. Two completely different topics statement is given with no correlation among statements..  both statements are isolated. So .. They converted .. each question in to two or three questions.
6. The real exam pressure and the race to finish quick with bombs placed like in a landmines ... You can lose your confidence anytime if you hit 3 or 4 tough questions without any solution  in a row. .. etc.  Not everybody is yogi vivekanand. We are in a bloody war where we have landmines fixed(randomness of topics now a days) .
6. more and more ... You can add.

But .. Those are topmost things.

Thanks to you then. But .. I think we should play by rules. .. as we have no other option.
Buy your  thought is noble and I respect that.
Peace.

Make a request to UPSC to reduce cutoff citing covid related exigencies..

For paper 1 the competition itself decude cutoff and thus any issue due to covid is equally for everyone..

But paper 2 has fixed cutoff..which can become difficult for people who are on the birderline.. So a logical representation can be made to UPSC.....

Just a suggestion to help out..

UPSC will not accept this representation because .. Rules are in open and all have to abide by them. UPSC is strict on rules if they declared things much beforehand. After all .. Paper 2 is qualifying, This has value for upsc .. if not for us.

Its ours problem to fix things up my friend.

I understand your point... But no harm in trying..

Anyways, it was just a friendly suggestion..
COVID forced UPSC to delay exam.. So everything has a first time..

Why not to make a representation to increase intake for mains say to 14000. This much they use to take in 2015 I think. And also about csat.

@GravityShades Desher book... Never heard of it. But I was able to see that yes... It must have talked any about region as the concept of India developed much later.
