Geography optional Mains 2019 discussion | Lessons Learnt
Where are all the poor souls of geo in forum ?
Guys... What do you think about paper 1 ? Would it be like 2017 where people claimed they got much more than expected due to some lenient correction ?
Similarly in paper 2 I found that I had very less case studies and facts to quote on paper. Pls do comment so that we can have a gauge of the way optional is going.

@132_SIDVery basic answer I wrote. Not much content, compared with inter basin and some advantages over it.

@SUMANSAURABH201296904Ken Betwa will be interbasin, it could be given as an example to identify shortcomings of interbasin (env concerns and displacement issues). For intrabasin, main examples to be highlighted had to be on line of watershed I think.

@vvvikas0078212well i thought they will be part of ganga basin, so intra basin. Obviously they are more feasibile than those traditional scheme like ganga kaveri of deenshaw dastoor. I dont know may be i have mistaken
@vvvikas0078212actually I read in hindi just linking of rivers and started answer without reading INTRABASIN ...In the end luckily mera dhyan ispe pda so last ke page m answer ko demand ke anusar bnane ki kosis ki but I was late ......3 case studies polavaram, ken -betwa ,narmada link maine likhe but answer ki structuring demand ke anusar nhi bni ......Like inter basin ki kmi btata and polavaram ki case study ...After that intrabasin ke advantages...

@132_SIDwell i criticised old scheme of kl rao, deenshaw dastur of peninsular himalayan linkages. And then gave argument of more feasibility of intra basin. In examples i gave ken betwa as it is more feasibile than ganga kaveri etc.

@SUMANSAURABH201296904when you use maps when you mention committee names ,put into spatial aspects ...then it is no more a generilist answer ,it is geography
@Arrah_JilaGeneralist answers are what we write for GS1 geography questions ..though it includes map but the points are more generic with absence of much of locational and spatial dimensions

@Bubba_gumpExactly ..still gs1 type answers gives u 120-30 in optional 2 if the questions are well addressed ..Rest last year many got 150+ there u must touch the core geography and in optional 2 core geography means integration of optional 1 and 2 syllabus
@Arrah_JilaWhy should be shy away from writing core geography in GS1. I usually answer geography questions in similar fashion as optional if I can.
