[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Panic attacks kaise chal rahe hain friends? From last week, I've had some minor construction works being done in my house, that led to shifting of my study area. Now the area that I moved into was my sister's room, so after a few days, LAC like situation developed and I was forced to retreat in order to avoid escalation. Then I realised that global warming is more real in summers, and despite all the self image booster of living a hardy life, AC ke Bina jeena mushkil hogya hai(although I've not been using ac since the beginning of this summer, but now it feels like a non negotiable minimum).

So a week later, I feel like I'm stuck in this sinkhole, and panic attacks badhte jaa rahe hai... Can anyone relate to that sinking feeling which apparently buries your soul and spirit within your body, and that you need a knock to come back to surface? Writing about it feels good, the experience itself is not so pleasant. Haven't felt this way in a long long time

@Raillife Personally I don’t believe in making such short notes. It proves beneficial for many, but not for me. I import whole pdf or article, then highlight the important points. But again, I have different approach for different subjects.

1. Current Affairs: I import the whole Article in Evernote and then highlight the important stuffs.

2. Static subjects (more related to facts like polity): I make short notes. Then update them after attempting tests. (Updated notes in red colour)

3. Static Subjects (subjective type): Firstly, I copy the important lines from books or notes and then highlight important things.

Guys, is underlining in textbooks really the best way to read and memorize? For ex: How should I read History from Mains perspective? How to memorize effectively?

@Raillife If you are talking about last one year, then I won't be able to answer. If you are comfortable with vision magazine (which I'm not), then you can cover that only. I personally cover daily newspaper, 9 pm brief and civilsdaily. Apart from these I had also joined Forumias Current Affairs classes (pre+ Mains).

@Naadan_Parinda Is your study completely paperless?
I’ve made all my mains notes in OneNote as well, but I find it being in soft copy is a big hurdle for me in getting to revise them. And I’m somehow brilliant at putting off both - printing and revising them.

@Villanelle Not completely paperless, but yes, most of it. Optional is mostly in physical paper form.
It is easy to copy-paste, underline, search and relate the topics when it is a soft copy.
I try to revise my notes before every test. And soft copy is not a big hurdle for me. Gradually I've got used to it.

@Samurai_jack there are lots of free applications available like One Note, but the best one for taking notes is Good notes or Notability but for them you need to pay a bit.
