Explanation – The Godavari River is one of India’s most significant waterways, often referred to as the “Dakshina Ganga” or the “Southern Ganges”. It originates in the Western Ghats of central India, near Trimbakeshwar in Nashik, Maharashtra. It flows eastward across the Deccan Plateau before emptying into the Bay of Bengal. The river’s journey takes it through several states, including Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.
