Both the statements are correct. Recently, the Union Science Ministry’s communication wing, Vigyan Prasar, has launched the India Science Technology and Innovation portal that can help with such queries. The portal can be queried for information about the organisations carrying out research, those funding them, international collaborations, the scientists involved in the research, the states in which they are being carried out, their achievements and impact.

It has a compilation of technologies developed in India, the organisations that have developed these technologies, those that have funded them and the status of the technologies.

Statement 1 is incorrect. Chandrayaan-2, India’s second mission to the Moon is a totally indigenous mission comprising of an Orbiter, Lander and Rover.

Statement 2 is correct. The Chandrayaan-2 would orbit around the moon and perform the objectives of remote sensing the moon. The payloads will collect scientific information on lunar topography, mineralogy, elemental abundance, lunar exosphere and signatures of hydroxyl and water-ice.

Statement 1 is incorrect: Project Elephant was launched in 1992 by the Ministry of Environment and Forests to provide financial and technical support of wildlife management efforts by states for their free ranging populations of wild Asian Elephants.

Statement 2 is correct: The project aims to ensure long-term survival of viable conservation reliant populations of elephants in their natural habitats by protecting the elephants, their habitats and migration corridors. Other goals of Project Elephant are supporting research of the ecology and management of elephants, creating conservation awareness among local people, providing improved veterinary care for captive elephants.

Statement 1 is correct- WTI was formed in November 1998 in response to the rapidly deteriorating condition of wildlife in India. WTI is a registered charity in India (under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act, 1961).

Statement 2: Is correct- The Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) is an Indian nature conservation organisation to conserve wildlife and its habitat and to work for the welfare of individual wild animals. WTI has been credited for achieving conservation milestones such as Recovering population of critically endangered species, Translocation of Species, Reducing Human-Animal Conflict, Rescue and Rehabilitation of Animals including Elephants,Tigers,Leopards, One-horned Rhino and Bears.

Statement 1 is correct: National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) is implementing & monitoring agency for implementation of Crime & Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS)

Statement 2 is correct: It was set up based on the recommendations of the National Police Commission (1977-1981) and the MHA’s Task force (1985). It was set up by merging the Directorate of Coordination and Police Computer (DCPC), Inter State Criminals Data Branch of CBI, Central Finger Print Bureau of CBI, and Statistical Branch of BPR&D.

Statement 1 is incorrect: The scheme is to be made operational  only for states, which demonstrate their commitment to implement and provide the requisite support for promoting operations under the scheme.

Statement 2 is correct: The scheme has proposed to set up an International Air Connectivity Fund (IACF) — a dedicated fund for providing subsidy support under the scheme. It will be created through the contributions of state governments.
