BPSC Prelims

Here is the pattern of the exam:

  • Paper = General Studies; Time = 2hrs; Total questions = 150; Marks = 150

Some key points to remember:

  • Questions would be set both in English and Hindi, except for the questions that are aimed to evaluate the candidate’s English skills.
  • Questions would be of Multiple Choice type. There will be no negative marking. Each question will have 5 options.
  • Use of a calculator is not allowed.
  • BPSC Prelims exam will be of qualifying nature only. The score in the Prelims exam shall be used only to select candidates for the BPSC Mains Exam.
  • To qualify for the mains exam, candidates must get the minimum marks set by the commission.
  • The number of candidates to be selected for BPSC Mains exam would be 10 times the vacancies.

Some key points to remember:

  • Questions will be available in both Hindi and English.
  • There is no negative marking in the descriptive question papers.
  • Candidates need to attempt all the papers to qualify for the interview round.
  • This round is both scoring and qualifying in nature.
  • The candidates who are placed suitably in the merit will be called for the interview.
