Inflation Targeting

Inflation targeting is a monetary policy under which the central bank of a country (RBI in India) adopts the principle objective to contain the rate of inflation at a certain level or in a certain range.

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of RBI overseas inflation targeting in India.

The current inflation target is 4 % with 6 % as upper tolerance limit and 2 % as lower limit.
