The Agreement on Agriculture is an international treaty of the World Trade Organisation. It focuses on the elimination of trade distorting agricultural subsidies.
The agreement has garnered fixed commitments from WTO nations on three aspects:
- Improving market access by means of removing trade barriers,
- Capping subsidies given for enhancing domestic production, and
- Providing export benefits.
