- Chinese President will be visiting the ancient city of Varanasi to attend the second informal summit after Wuhan.The summit will be hosted by Indian Prime Minister(PM).
- This summit will also mark the completion of 70 years since diplomatic relations between India and China came into existence.
- This high-level mechanism is only the third ministerial level channel between India and China.The other two are between the two Commerce Ministries and the Special Representatives on the boundary question.
- India’s participation in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP) is also expected to be discussed during this visit.
