- Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has organised the Curtain Raiser ceremony for the 3rd Edition of Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo(RE-INVEST 2019).
- The objective of the event is to attract the right investments in renewable energy(RE) and present India’s RE story to the world.
- The event also aims at building upon the success of RE-INVEST 2015 to accelerate the worldwide effort to scale up renewable energy and connect the global investment community with Indian energy stakeholders.
- The Indian government has set a growth target of installation of 175 GW aggregate capacity of renewable energy by 2022.It includes 100 GW from solar, 60 GW from wind, 10 GW from bio-power and 5 GW from small hydro-power.
- The 2nd Global RE-INVEST, was held from 2-5 October,2018.It aimed at accelerating the worldwide effort to scale up renewable energy and connect the global investment community with Indian energy stakeholders.
