Still in the 21st century, India is observing incidents of black magic, human and animal sacrifice and other superstitious practices.

Recently, state government of Assam opposed the move by the center to stop animal sacrifice on a daily basis.

The silly rituals and superstitions are still deeply imbibed in the minds of the Indians.

Reasons for lack of scientific temperament  :-

1. Education : Somewhere the education system is failing to imbibe the scientific temperament. It teaches only facts rather than scientific methods.
2. Opposition : Radicals are criticized and even murdered for their fight against superstitions.
3. False preachings of Godmen are often misleading and many times provoke people to perform vices.
4. Lack of scientific temper in the teachers and scientists who are the primary disseminators of scientific temperament.
5. The climate of scientific inquiry in INDIA is at threat of being compromised because of political and religious interference.

Solutions for instilling scientific temper –

• On individual level he/she should be taught to ask relevant question to himself/herself , whether it is a good science or bad science.
• Checking fake news and false information by media houses should be fined heavily. Instead they should provide good and unbiased information.
• Keeping an eye on the godmen and mystics promoting unscientific approach
• Education system should promote students to be curious in their approach and question what they feel is irrational.
