Questions
1. In spite of having one of the most successful and cost-effective space programs in the world, India accounts for only 2 percent of the global space economy. What steps have been taken by the government for the growth of India’s “space economy? Suggest the steps required for its further growth.
2. Just as in the defence sector, India needs to reorient its approach to agricultural self-reliance with a great focus on R&D. Elaborate
You need to elaborate on the steps taken by the Government. For example you can mention In-Space etc. You can read more about it and make your notes.
For steps ahead, you can mention greater support to the Start-ups and Non-Government Private Entities in the Space sector. Government need to support all components of Space economy like manufacturing of space-related equipment (satellites, launch vehicles and ancillary equipment), space operations (launch operations, space surveillance, tracking, lease, brokerage, etc) and space applications (Direct to Home broadcast, satellite telephony, remote sensing, etc).
You need to elaborate more on your answers. Keep writing 🙂
Good attempt. However, some suggestions for improvement.
1. You can begin by mentioning that although India is largely self-reliant in Agriculture, there is a need to shift the approach. Some of the reasons include; challenge of climate change to agriculture, stagnation in productivity and low productivity (much lower than the US, China, EU etc,), negative impacts of agriculture like degradation of soils and water table etc.
2. Then you can say how R&D can help in addressing these challenges like new varieties of seeds that are more productive but consume less water etc. India is lacking in Agri R&D at present. So more focus on reqd. on indigenous solutions like the approach proposed for the Defense sector.
