I don’t think, HIV/AIDS is a genetic disorder. The name itself suggests it is an “acquired” disease. However, I am aware of the fact that there are genetic predispositions to the outcome of HIV infection. But, still it can’t be categorised as a “genetic disorder” in my opinion. So, please look into the Question No. 7.
Dear Mishra, The statement mentioned “Human disease and Genetic disorders”. HIV and Hemophilia are given as an examples for human disease and Genetic disorders. You’re correct. HIV/AIDS is not a genetic disorder. The statement is in general context. The statement did not mention HIV as a genetic disorder.
Ya, if that is the case, then certainly the said statement could have framed in a better way grammatically. There is “Proximity rule” which comes into play and gives a different vibe than your’s. For instance it could have been “It can be used to treat many human diseases & genetic disorders like HIV/AIDS and hemophilia respectively”. Anyway, excuse my Grammar gyan there. On a lighter note…This is what happens when you starts following Dr Shashi Tharoor ardently.☺️ Thanks indeed team ForumIAS!?
