  1. The meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has passed two resolutions on Kashmir.It was passed a day after India’s foreign minister’s address at the OIC.
  2. The two resolutions,(a)Kashmir issue as the “core dispute” between the India and Pakistan.It also expressed concern at rights violations in “Indian occupied” Kashmir and (b)India-Pakistan “peace process”,were part of the overall political resolution passed at the end of the meeting of OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers.
  3. Reacting to the resolution,India asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country and the issue is strictly internal.
  4. Organisation of Islamic Cooperation is an international organization founded in 1969, consisting of 57 member states.It is the second largest inter-governmental organization after the United NationsThe OIC has permanent delegations to the United Nations and the European Union.
