It is produced by Kazan Helicopters, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters.Designed to transport cargo inside the cabin and on an external sling, the Mi-17V-5 is one of the world’s most advanced helicopters. It can also be deployed in troop and arms transport, fire support, convoy escort, patrol, and search-and-rescue (SAR) missions.The Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) placed an order for 12 Mi-17V5 helicopters during the Aero India show held in February 2013.
The Indian MoD had awarded a $1.3bn contract to Russian Helicopters for 80 helicopters in December 2008. Deliveries to the Indian Air Force (IAF) began in 2011 and 36 helicopters were delivered by early 2013.

Explanation: Punjab Forest, Wildlife and Wildlife Preservation Minister, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, on Friday, informed that the State Government has decided to establish a Dinosaur Park at the Chhatbir zoo apart from giving the permit to kill wild pigs who cause damage to the crops. The minister also released a pair of lions named Akshit and Driti and a white tigress Gauri in the Chhatbir Zoo. The minister visited the zoo as Chief Guest during the ‘Wildlife Preservation Week.’

Explanation: Union Ministry of Tourism launches Audio Guide facility App called ‘Audio Odigos’ for 12 sites of India (including Iconic Sites). The launch was made during the ongoing celebrations of nationwide ‘Paryatan Parv 2019’. This year is the 3rd edition of Paryatan Parv.

The app is launched for the benefit of tourists. With Audio Odigos, tourists will now be able to enjoy a more enriching experience and take back historical insights of Indian culture and heritage. The app is now available for download on all Android and iOS supported mobile phones. This app is the outcome of MoU signed by Tourism Ministry with Resbird Technologies in 2018 under which they have developed the audio guide app as a part of their Corporate social responsibility (CSR).
