Explanation: Biorock Technology, or mineral accretion technology is a method that applies safe, low voltage electrical currents through seawater, causing dissolved minerals to crystallize on structures, growing into a white limestone similar to that which naturally makes up coral reefs and tropical white sand beaches. This material has strength similar to concrete. It can be used to make robust artificial reefs on which corals grow at very rapid rates. The change in the environment produced by electrical currents accelerates formation and growth of both chemical limestone rock and the skeletons of corals and other shell-bearing organisms.

Explanation: To celebrate the spirit of India, the annual event Bharat Parv is being organised in Delhi this year too. Bharat Parv, 2020 is being celebrated from 26th to 31st January, 2020 in front of Red Fort at Gyan Path and Red Fort grounds. It is organized by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with other central Ministries. The objective of Bharat Parv is to encourage Indians to visit different tourism places of India and to inculcate the spirit of ‘Dekho Apna Desh’. Explanation: Nagoba Jatara festival is being celebrated by the Mesram Raj Gonds and Pardhans in Adilabad district of Telangana State. It is the second biggest tribal carnival and celebrated by Mesaram clan of Gond tribes for 10 days. Explanation: Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra and the World Bank has signed a loan agreement of USD 210 million for State of Maharashtra’s Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (SMART). The project has been launched by the Maharashtra Government with the assistance of World Bank. It aims to transform Rural Maharashtra through the revamp of agricultural value chains with special focus on marginal farmers.

Explanation: The Citizenship (Amendment) Act was legislated by the Parliament during this winter session. However, several states are agitating over the non-inclusion of Muslims in the law. After Kerala, Punjab and Rajasthan, West Bengal passed a resolution against CAA. According to West Bengal, the act does not stick to secularism.
