• When government acquires the land directly for ‘public purpose’ consent of the land owner is not required, however, In case of acquisition of land for use by private companies or public private partnerships, consent of 80 per cent of the displaced people will be required.  Purchase of large pieces of land by private companies will require provision of rehabilitation and resettlement.

The National Tiger Conservation Authority is a statutory body under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change constituted under the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
