Oxfam is a confederation of 20 independent charitable organizations focusing on the alleviation of global poverty, founded in 1942 and led by Oxfam International.

Oxfam International was formed in 1995 by a group of independent non-governmental organizations. Their aim was to work together for greater impact on the international stage to reduce poverty and injustice.

NPPA is an independent body set up in 1997 under Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Its mandate is to fix/revise controlled bulk drugs prices and formulations, enforce prices and availability of medicines under Drug (Price Control) order, 2013.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is the national regulatory body for Indian pharmaceuticals and medical device.

Functions of NPPA are:

(a) To implement and enforce the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order

(b)Deal with all legal matters arising out of the decisions of the Authority

(c) To monitor the availability of drugs, identify shortages and

(d)To collect/ maintain data on production, exports and imports, profitability of companies etc, for bulk drugs and formulation.

Home Ministry has set up a Multi-Disciplinary Terror Monitoring Group (MDTMG).

The group aims to ensure synergised and concerted action against terror financing and terror-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

The MDTMG will have representatives from (a)Jammu and Kashmir Police (b)Intelligence Bureau (c)Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) (c)National Investigation agency (NIA) and (d)Income Tax Department.

Model code of Conduct (MCC) are the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India for conduct of political parties and candidates during elections. The MCC comes into force immediately on the announcement of the election schedule by the commission. The Code remains in force till the end of the electoral process.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has recently awarded Geographical Indication (GI) to five varieties of Indian coffee.

The five varieties of Indian coffee accorded GI tag are: a) Coorg Arabica coffee, b) Wayanaad Robusta coffee, c) Chikmagalur Arabica coffee, d) Araku Valley Arabica coffee, and e) Bababudangiris Arabica coffee. The Monsooned Malabar Robusta Coffee was the only variety awarded GI Tag earlier.

Araku Valley Arabica coffee is grown in the hilly tracks of Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh & Odisha. It is produced by the tribals, who follow an organic approach.

IATA is a trade association for the world’s airlines. It was established in April 1945. It represents some 290 airlines which accounts for 82% of total air traffic. It is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

IATA aims to improve understanding of the air transport industry among decision makers and increase awareness of the benefits that aviation brings to national and global economies. It also helps airlines to operate safely, securely, efficiently and economically under clearly defined rules.

SpiceJet has joined global airlines grouping International Air Transport Association (IATA) as a member. It became the first Indian low-cost carrier to join the IATA.
