Post-stroke depression is a common and serious complication following a stroke. It is a distinct clinical condition with a specific set of symptoms, including sadness, loss of interest in activities, changes in appetite, and difficulty concentrating, among others. Early recognition and proper treatment of PSD can significantly improve the quality of life for stroke survivors. Treatment may involve medications, psychotherapy, or a combination of both.
