1. The 17th India-Germany Military Cooperation Sub Group (MCSG) meeting was held from 01-02 October 2024 in Berlin, Germany.
2. Purpose: The meeting aimed to explore new initiatives to expand bilateral military cooperation.
3. Focus: It focuses on strengthening ongoing defence engagements across various operational and strategic areas.
About Military Cooperation Sub Group (MCSG)
1. The Military Cooperation Sub Group (MCSG) is a bilateral or multilateral platform for enhancing defense and security cooperation among participating nations.
2. It focuses on promoting collaboration in various areas of military affairs.
3. Objective: The Military Cooperation Sub Group (MCSG) is a dedicated forum to enhance defence cooperation between India and Germany.
4. Regular strategic and operational level talks are held between the Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff (India), and the Department of International Cooperation, Armed Forces (Germany).
5. Representation: The Indian delegation was co-chaired by the Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff for International Defence Cooperation.
The German delegation was co-chaired by the Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Armed Forces Office, Germany.
6. Key Outcomes: The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation to deepen defence engagements and expand military cooperation between the two nations.
