Constitution serves as a basis for democratic governance in a country that ensures everybody’s interests and procedures are being followed. It governs the procedure and manner of framing laws and the procedures by which the Government functions.
Indian Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November 1949 and came into force on 26th January 1950. The Indian Constitution contains a Preamble, 395 Articles, and 8 Schedules, originally. But now, the no. of articles and schedules has been increased to around 470 Articles, and 12 Schedules.
