The rocky planets were formed when materials violently smashed into one another in space. These materials spun together in orbit, eventually accreting to form larger chunks of material over millions of years – our rocky planets.

The Big Bang is a theory about the creation of the Universe. It is not the process that describes the process by which rocky planets were formed.

Collisions were a part of this process, but a collision alone does not form a planet.

A supernova is a massive stellar explosion. Supernovas do not form planets, but they do create many of the complex elements that planets are made from.
