Doctrine of sovereign immunity says that a sovereign or state cannot commit a legal wrong and is immune from civil suit or criminal prosecution, in its own courts.
It is based on the British Jurisprudence that says the King can do no wrong and that he cannot be guilty of personal negligence or misconduct.
