The Prelims this year has been extraordinarily off the mark even by UPSC’s own standards.

We met yesterday at 5PM, at Karol Bagh, New Delhi to discuss the way ahead.

Since the diversity of questions asked by you was quite vast, we have discussed several things.

Here is a quick summary

  1. Make sure your optional Paper 1 is done this month at least 50-70%. Finish it off as much as possible.
  2. We have AWFG ( like SFG for Prelims ) Mains starting with an open ended, open book entrance test today at 4PM in both online and offline mode. Register for the test here
  3. For Mains 2023/2024 students, we have GS Advanced Program ( GSAP ), MGP and Two classroom modules – CA Crash Course for Mains 2023, Ethics+ Classes
  4. GSAP includes Classes for Paper 1,2,3 + Ethics+ CA Classes and MGP. AWFG is not included as the same questions will be given out as assignments in a more organised manner.
  5. In case you are in service and are looking for value addition/ rank upgradation, you may speak to Rank 2 and 4 over whatsapp groups since they were part of the classroom modules at Forum. The trust when you are doing something is very important.
  6. Among the highest marks in GS as has been the trend in past 6 years has been secured by MGP+ CA Classroom Student Garima, whose total GS score is 470.
  7. Among the highest scorers in Essay has been secured by ForumIAS Academy students ( consistently for 6 years now ) – Rank 1 Ishita (137 ) and Rank 4 Smriti ( 145 ). Yu can download their Essay paper at https://forumias.com/blog/testimonials
  8. We are already seeing a plateauing of scores with basic answer writing. Presentation will be king, but content remains the king. We recommend taking value addition modules apart from test series at Forum or a coaching where you have trust. We recommend Delhi based coachings simply because of the concentration of quality students who raise the content bar for teachers.
  9. If we are not clearing Prelims, the single minded goal should be finish of GS + Optionals latest by October. And not touch Prelims immediately
  10. CSAT classes if any should be joined after October. No point joining CSAT now and then forgetting everything by January. Once you start CSAT classes such as October/November, you must practice it regularly. No gap in there.
  11. Trust the process.
